Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You identify the main transformation: the staff dining rooms become takeaway and coffee areas, the serving counter changes to hot meals, and new outdoor facilities are added. You also note that the kitchen and toilets remain, and that recycling replaces the bin. This covers the key changes, but some details are inaccurate or unclear: the plan shows four outdoor tables, not five, and does not specify 26 chairs. The barbecue is described as “live,” which is not indicated. The overview is also implicit rather than clearly summarising the broad shift from staff facilities to expanded food service and outdoor dining. To strengthen the report, give a concise overview and describe locations and changes precisely, without adding unsupported details.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall sequence: it first describes the original café and then explains the redesigned layout. Paragraphing supports this comparison, and linking expressions such as “However,” “After its reconstruction,” and “Additionally” help the reader follow the changes. This is a coherent arrangement, with most information grouped appropriately. Some connections are less smooth, however: “with a reference to its entrance” is unclear, and the final sentences repeat the idea of outdoor dining and access. The report would progress more naturally if each paragraph moved systematically around the plan or grouped retained features separately from additions. More precise referencing and less repetition would make the cohesion more flexible and less dependent on basic transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of vocabulary for describing a redesigned space, including “renovated,” “recycling,” “replaced,” and “established.” These choices communicate the main changes, and you attempt more specific terms such as “dining hall” and “barbecue section.” However, several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or awkward: “how it features now,” “a reference to its entrance,” and “recycling in place of bins” do not express the intended meanings naturally. There are also spelling errors, including “prviously,” “enterance,” “rplaced,” and “palced.” Use standard plan-description phrases such as “the café as it appears today,” “opens onto,” and “recycling bins replaced the bin,” and proofread spelling to improve precision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “which” and “where,” and the main sequence of changes is generally understandable. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly with articles, agreement, and sentence construction. For example, “kitchen and the service area was present” needs plural agreement (“were”), while “Cafe had basic facilities” needs an article (“The café”). The phrase “with a reference to its entrance” also has an unclear grammatical relationship, and “After it's reconstruction” uses the wrong possessive form; write “After its reconstruction.” Punctuation and spacing are inconsistent in places. Check agreement and articles, and build complex sentences around clear subjects and verbs while retaining your useful variety.
