Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You identify several important changes and provide an overall impression that the café gained outdoor space, including a barbecue and outdoor seating. You also correctly note the change from the general serving area to hot meals, the addition of a salad bar, and the replacement of staff dining rooms with takeaway and coffee facilities. However, some details are unclear or incomplete: the outdoor seating is not described as being reached through new doors on the south wall, and the recycling bins did not expand; they replaced the single bin. The statement that the café “had expanded” is also imprecise, since the new seating is outside the building. A clearer overview and more precise comparisons would make the main features easier to understand.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic overall structure: an introduction, an overview, and paragraphs describing changes and features that remained. This gives the reader some sense of how the plans are being compared. However, progression within the body is difficult to follow, and several ideas are joined in long, unclear sentences. For example, “in the north of café serving area… have changed to hot meals and added new place it is salad bar” combines separate changes without clearly distinguishing them. Linking phrases such as “Moreover” and “According to what is shown” are used, but do not consistently clarify relationships. Organise the details by location or by changes versus unchanged features, and use shorter sentences with clear references.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for describing a plan, including “north,” “west,” “center,” “recycling bins,” and “outdoor seating.” These terms help communicate the general subject and several changes. However, the range is limited, and inaccurate word choices or spelling often make the description harder to interpret. For instance, “the place of cafe had expanded” is not a precise way to describe the addition of outdoor seating, while “bar” does not clearly identify the coffee bar. Errors such as “palce,” “atfer,” and “dinnig” also reduce clarity. Build a more accurate set of plan-description terms, including “was converted into,” “was added,” and “remained unchanged,” and check spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple statements and more complex sentences, including an overview beginning “Overall” and a comparison of facilities that remained unchanged. However, sentence structures are often faulty, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and punctuation make some relationships difficult to follow. For example, “In the map illustrate the changes” lacks a correctly formed subject and verb, while “serving area… have changed” has a subject–verb agreement problem. The final sentence, “of this dramaticly improving… the kitchen hasnt any change,” is also difficult to parse. Practise forming complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and use consistent past-tense forms for changes and present tense for the current layout.
