Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the main overall changes: the kitchen remains, the former staff dining rooms become takeaway and coffee facilities, and outdoor seating with a barbecue is added. You also note the hot-meal counter, salad bar, recycling bins and unchanged toilets, so the response covers the key features and is generally relevant. However, the overview is unclear in places, especially “not a completely change” and “great specefull,” and some details are imprecise: the recycling bins replace the bin’s position rather than occupying a “large place,” and the outdoor area’s layout is not described. To strengthen the report, state the main contrast clearly and explain the most important changes with accurate locations.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic, recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and two paragraphs introduced by “Firstly” and “Secondly.” This helps the reader follow the broad sequence of changes. However, progression within the paragraphs is uneven, and several links are mechanical or unclear. For example, “in addition” does not clearly connect the kitchen’s unchanged position to the counter change, while “Ergo” is an unnatural transition before the final additions. Some references, such as “that place” and “its,” make it difficult to identify exactly what is being discussed. Group related changes more logically—for example, internal food-service changes together, then changes to waste facilities and outdoor space—and use clear location references.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “kitchen,” “staff dining room,” “take away food,” “coffee bar,” “salad bar,” and “outdoor seating.” These terms show an attempt to describe the plan rather than relying entirely on general language. However, the range is limited and several word choices or spellings make the description difficult to understand, including “desing,” “claiments,” “specefull,” and “newely.” Phrases such as “the toilet as it is” and “large place” are also imprecise for describing a floor plan. Aim for accurate, natural expressions such as “remained unchanged,” “was converted into,” and “a new outdoor dining area,” and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, and the reader can usually identify the broad changes. However, control of sentence structure and verb forms is inconsistent, which sometimes obscures relationships between features. For example, “Staff dining room convert into take away food and coffee bar” lacks a correctly formed passive verb, while “the service area … and that place desing hot meals” does not form a clear sentence. There are also problems with articles and agreement in “the toilet as it is” and “now a new added.” Practise complete subject–verb sentences and passive forms for describing changes, such as “The staff dining rooms were converted into a takeaway area and a coffee bar.”
