Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify the broad contrast between the earlier café and its redesigned version, and mention several relevant features, including the kitchen, seating, staff dining rooms, recycling bins and outdoor seating. However, the report only partially describes the plans: it does not clearly explain that the staff rooms became takeaway and coffee-bar areas, or that a salad bar was added. The barbecue is mentioned, but its position beside the outdoor seating is not explained. The overview is also vague: claims such as “Everything is same” and “more beautiful” do not accurately summarise the main changes, since the layout and facilities changed in specific ways. Focus on factual comparisons and avoid unsupported judgments about appearance.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some organisation: the response begins with an introduction, then refers to the original café and the redesigned one. Basic linking words such as “First,” “additionally” and “but” show an attempt to connect ideas. However, progression is unclear because the same features are repeated across paragraphs, and the final paragraph mixes a general claim with a few changes without a clear comparison. The contrast between old and new facilities would be easier to follow if grouped by location or by what was retained, replaced and added. Use clear paragraph roles—an overview followed by organised details—and make references such as “it” and “Everything” more specific.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-related vocabulary, including “kitchen,” “serving area,” “dining rooms,” “recycling bin” and “outdoor seating,” so the reader can recognise the general subject. However, the range is limited and several choices are inaccurate or informal for describing a plan. “Glorious” and “more beautiful” express opinion rather than objective changes, while “same place like new cafe” is imprecise. Spelling and word-form errors such as “whera,” “samll” and “putted” also reduce clarity. Aim for precise map language and accurate facility names, such as “was replaced by,” “was added,” and “remained in the same position.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts both simple statements and longer sentences, but grammatical control is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to understand. Examples include “The cafe is consists on kitchen,” “The cafe is consists,” and “New cafe have,” which show problems with verb forms and subject–verb agreement. Articles and sentence construction are also unreliable in phrases such as “design of old college cafe” and “after construction it redesign into new cafe.” Several sentences run together or begin with lowercase “but,” and punctuation around clauses is inconsistent. Practise accurate present and past passive forms for describing changes, for example, “The staff rooms were replaced by a coffee bar and takeaway area.”
