Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You identify the main transformation: the former serving counter becomes a hot-meal area, the staff dining rooms are replaced by takeaway and coffee facilities, and outdoor seating with a barbecue is added. You also note that the kitchen and toilets remain, and that the bin becomes recycling bins. This covers the key before-and-after changes and gives a relevant overall summary. However, some features are only briefly mentioned or unclear: the new salad bar is not located, and the outdoor arrangement is described vaguely as a “barbecue counter with them.” A more precise account of the new southern access and the seating area would make the comparison more complete and better developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has an overall structure, beginning with an introduction and overview before moving to individual changes. Linking expressions such as “Overall,” “Also,” and “Similarly” help signal relationships between points. However, progression is not consistently clear: the serving counter and staff rooms are repeated in the third paragraph, and the final sentence of the second paragraph restates the outdoor changes without adding much information. Some connections are awkward or unclear, particularly “As compared to he toilets,” while several ideas are joined in long sentences. Grouping changes by location or by what stayed and changed, and removing repetition, would create a clearer sequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant task vocabulary, including “serving area,” “take away food,” “coffee bar,” “recycling bin,” and “outdoor seating,” so the reader can identify many of the features. There are also attempts at more formal language, such as “remodeled” and “renovation.” However, word choice and spelling are often inaccurate or unnatural, including “demonstates,” “reconstructured,” “reworked,” and “barbecue counter.” The repeated use of “changed” and “area” also limits precision. Choose standard map-description terms and use them accurately—for example, say that facilities were “converted into” or “replaced by” new ones, and describe the barbecue as an area rather than a counter.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer comparative sentences, and the main meaning is generally recoverable. However, control of sentence structure and verb forms is inconsistent. Examples include “significant changed had been took place,” “Kitchen before and after designed were the same,” and “the area with tables and chairs were remained the same.” These contain problems with verb formation, tense, and agreement. Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “in the” and the doubled full stop after “counter..” Some longer sentences combine several changes without a clear grammatical structure. Practise accurate past-tense passive forms, such as “was replaced by,” and check subject–verb agreement when revising.
