Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You identify the main overall change: the café keeps its general area and indoor seating, while new food options and outdoor seating are introduced. You also accurately report the kitchen’s continued location, the change from a general serving counter to hot meals, and the conversion of the staff dining rooms into takeaway and coffee facilities. This covers the central comparison, but some features are less fully reported: the recycling bins replacing the old bin and the toilets remaining in place are not mentioned, and the outdoor arrangement and barbecue are only briefly noted. The overview that changes were made “to attract the audience” is an inferred purpose rather than a feature shown in the plans. More precise coverage of the changes and unchanged elements would make the summary more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall sequence: an introduction, an overview, a description of the former layout, and then the redesign. This makes the comparison easy to follow, and phrases such as “Overall” and “furthermore” help signal relationships between ideas. However, the final paragraph combines several changes in a long sequence, so the reader has to work to distinguish the indoor alterations from the outdoor additions. Some linking is also mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “also” and the transition “Certain amendments have been made.” The final sentence is incomplete, which disrupts the progression and leaves the outdoor details unfinished. Grouping the changes by location and using clearer sentence boundaries would strengthen the flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use a reasonable range of vocabulary for describing a redesigned space, including “converted,” “specified,” “introduced,” and “indoor seating.” These choices communicate several key changes clearly. However, some wording is imprecise or unnatural for a plan description: “audience” does not fit the café context, “executed” is awkward for seating, and “serving corner” is less precise than “serving area” or “counter.” There are also spelling errors, including “rennovation,” “dinning,” and “posssessed,” which reduce accuracy. Aim for concise, conventional terms for facilities and locations, and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary would help distinguish the new food counters, recycling facilities, and outdoor dining area.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including the contrast in “kitchen is on the same side … but serving corner … has been specified.” Most of the intended meaning remains understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. Articles and possessives are missing in phrases such as “overall cafe area” and “kitchen is on the same side”; the latter also needs a clearer subject reference. Tense and aspect are inconsistent in “are being converted” and “has also been executed,” which describe completed changes as if they were ongoing or actions. Capitalisation after full stops is also inconsistent, and the final sentence is unfinished. Use consistent past or present-perfect forms for completed redesign work and proofread sentence boundaries.
