Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the broad change from a simple indoor café to one with additional food facilities and outdoor seating, and you mention several relevant features, including the salad bar, barbecue, coffee bar and takeaway room. However, the overview is vague: “changing of cafe kitchen, setting area and recycling bin and hall changing” does not clearly summarise the main transformations. Some important details are omitted, such as the staff dining rooms being replaced, the hot-meals counter, and the new southern doors and outdoor tables. The claim that the café has “more sitting areas” is not clearly supported by the plan. The response also falls 23 words short of the required 150, limiting the detail you can provide. Develop a clearer overview and compare the key changes accurately.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic overall shape: an opening statement, an attempted overview, and a paragraph describing the new café. This gives the reader some sense of the before-and-after comparison. However, progression is limited because the earlier layout is described only briefly, while most of the response lists features of the current plan. Linking phrases such as “Along with that” and “If we see more spacifically” are repetitive or awkward, and the relationship between ideas is not always clear. The overview also repeats the idea of change without organising the main changes into groups. A clearer sequence—overview, then changes inside the café, followed by the outdoor additions—would make the report easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “kitchen,” “serving area,” “tables and chairs,” “outdoor sitting area” and “coffee bar,” so the main subject is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, spelling and collocation errors reduce precision: “setting area,” “barbeeque,” “more spacifically” and “more facilities then” are examples. “Hall” is also an imprecise label for the café’s central seating space. Repeated use of “area,” “change” and “cafe” makes the description less varied. Build a small bank of accurate plan vocabulary, such as “seating area,” “counter,” “replaced by” and “adjacent to,” and check spelling before finishing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, for example, “While the new plan change whe whole look of cafe and now the cafe have outdoor sitting area.” This shows an effort to connect ideas, but the longer constructions are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make the writing less fluent. Examples include “the cafe design was very simple and only have few thing,” where tense, agreement and plural forms are not controlled, and “the today cafe have,” which has an incorrect article and verb form. Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also inconsistent, including the opening’s all-capital presentation and missing spaces after commas. Practise accurate present and past forms, subject–verb agreement, articles and plural nouns, then use shorter, well-controlled sentences before adding complex links.
