These plans show key features of a college cafe before redesining it and after doing changes.
Overall, major changes were made by creating a large outdoor seating in the new design. Also portions for salad bars, barbecue, coffee bars, take away and hot meals were introduced.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.5
You give a clear overview of the redesign, identifying the new outdoor seating and the added food facilities, and you make relevant comparisons between the two plans. Several details are accurately reported: the kitchen and toilets remain, the staff dining rooms become takeaway and coffee areas, and the former bin is replaced by recycling bins. This covers the main changes well. Some descriptions are less precise, however: the outdoor area is not described as “large” in the plan, and the recycling-bin space is not shown as having increased. The salad bar is along the western wall, rather than simply “alongside the table.” To strengthen the response further, describe locations more exactly and avoid claims about size or area that the plans do not establish. The overview and selection of features are otherwise effective.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response is arranged in a sensible sequence: an introduction and overview are followed by paragraphs on the kitchen and seating changes, then the bins, toilets and salad bar. This gives the reader a coherent account of the redesign, and transitions such as “However,” “Also” and “There was no… but…” help connect comparisons. The organisation is clear overall, but some linking is mechanical, with repeated “Also” and repeated references to “the new design.” Punctuation spacing is inconsistent, for example “Overall, major” and “design. Also,” which interrupts the flow. A few references could also be more explicit: “that area” depends on the reader linking it back to the outdoor seating. Use varied, precise transitions and check spacing around punctuation to make the progression smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for describing changes, including “replaced,” “introduced,” “remained” and “access,” and the meaning is generally clear. There are also useful attempts at more specific terms such as “outdoor seating” and “recycling bin.” However, some word choices and collocations are imprecise: “portions for salad bars” and “space for barbecue” do not sound natural in this context, while “the area for dining” is vague. Spelling errors such as “redesining” and “Imporantly” also reduce accuracy. Aim for standard plan-description phrases such as “facilities were added,” “a barbecue area was created,” and “the central seating area remained largely unchanged.” This would make your descriptions more precise and natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including contrast structures such as “There was no salad bar in the previous design but a salad bar is now present.” The main comparisons are usually understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “The area for dining remain” needs subject–verb agreement (“remains”), and “there were no space” needs “there was no space.” The phrase “before redesining it and after doing changes” is also awkwardly constructed, and “a large outdoor seating” has an incorrect article and noun form. Punctuation spacing is inconsistent, and commas are sometimes missing after introductory words. Review agreement, articles and sentence construction, then proofread punctuation; these corrections would improve control while preserving your range of sentence forms.
