Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify several relevant changes, including the addition of outdoor seating, a barbecue and a salad bar, and note that the kitchen and toilets remain. However, the response only partially reports the plans: it does not clearly describe the replacement of the staff dining rooms by take-away food and coffee-bar sections, or explain the new southern access to the outdoor area. Some details are inaccurate or unclear: the tables and chairs remain in the central area rather than being relocated, and the recycling bins replace the old bin in the same position. The opening overview, “The seating area was expanded,” is not clearly supported by the plan, while repeated concluding statements add little information. Select the main changes accurately and compare the two layouts more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5
The response begins with several short statements that could form an overview, but the later information is presented as a largely continuous sequence with no clear paragraph structure or progression. Connections between ideas are often awkward or missing, as in “The tables were relocated to another area.On the other Hand cafe today Kitchen…” and “However, the recyle bin remained same.” Repeated summaries such as “these are diffferent changes” and “A lot of changes” interrupt the report rather than develop it. Use separate paragraphs for the overview and the main comparisons, and group related changes by location or by what stayed and changed. Clear sentence boundaries and a small number of accurate linking phrases would make the information easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant layout vocabulary, including “kitchen,” “tables and chairs,” “outdoor seating,” “barbecue” and “salad bar,” so the reader can identify several features. However, the range is limited and key terms are repeated, especially “changes,” “cafe” and “added.” Several spelling errors, including “recyle,” “diffferent,” “redeisgned” and “separeted,” reduce accuracy. Some phrases are also imprecise or unnatural, such as “the old counter was replaced by a new one” and “the position of Barbecue and Salad bar new added.” Use precise terms from the plan and verbs such as “remained,” “was converted into,” and “was installed” to describe changes more clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts both short statements and longer sentences, but grammatical control is inconsistent, and many sentences contain errors that make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Examples include “the design of Toilets were remained same,” “And tables and chairs were on centre position,” and “take away food were already present.” These show problems with verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction. Punctuation and spacing also interfere with readability, particularly in “area. On the other Hand” and “However, the.” Most sentences rely on simple patterns, while attempts to join several ideas often become incomplete or run together. Practise writing one clear comparison per sentence, checking subject–verb agreement and past-tense forms, and using full stops consistently.
