Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the two stages and mention several relevant features, including the kitchen, serving area/hot meals, seating, toilets, bins and the new outdoor area. The overview also recognises that the café has been redesigned. However, the comparison is often unclear or inaccurate: the staff dining rooms were replaced by takeaway and coffee-bar sections, not simply described as dining rooms with tables, and the new salad bar is described as a place to drink. You also say the recycling bins have “no any changes,” although the original bin was replaced by recycling bins, and omit the new southern doors and the barbecue’s position. Select the main changes accurately and explain them directly to make the summary more complete and clear.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is an attempt to organise the response around an overall comparison, using signals such as “Overall,” “On the other hand,” “Furthermore” and “Last but not least.” This gives the reader some sense of movement between the two plans. However, ideas are not arranged into clear, purposeful paragraphs, and the long sequence of loosely connected statements makes the description difficult to follow. Some links are also confusing: “However” does not clearly introduce a contrast, while “than after” is repeated without showing the relationship between features. Group the overview separately, then describe the main internal changes and the new outdoor area in a logical order. Use fewer, more precise linking phrases and make references to each plan explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-related vocabulary, including “serving area,” “tables and chairs,” “recycling bins,” “toilets” and “outdoor seating,” so the reader can recognise the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or informal, which sometimes obscures the intended meaning. For example, “the plane illustrate” is not an appropriate way to refer to the diagrams, and “people ca drink in the bar area” misrepresents the salad bar. Phrases such as “dustbin ang trash” and “for the washroom either for fresh” are not suitable for a formal map summary. Aim for precise terms such as “plan,” “located,” “replaced by” and “added,” and avoid explaining how customers might use each facility.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences, for example with “Overall” and “On the other hand,” but control of sentence structure is inconsistent. Errors in agreement and verb forms appear in phrases such as “The plane illustrate,” “toilets is” and “all design has been change.” Articles and sentence construction are also often missing or unclear, as in “kitchen their serving area” and “barbecue is design.” These problems can make relationships between features difficult to understand. Use straightforward sentence patterns first, checking that each sentence has a clear subject and verb, and practise accurate past-versus-present comparisons, such as “The staff dining rooms were replaced by a takeaway area and a coffee bar.”
