Student answer (Band 6.0)

Due to advance technology, theatres and cinemas are not as important as they were before, because individual's beleive that they can watch entertainment online according to their own will. On the other hand, some citizen think, theatres and cinemas are still vital for economic and cultural growth.I beleive these digital platforms and cinemas both are beneficial for economy.

In today's world, when everything converted online, entratinment industry also switch its many programs on online platforms which is conveninet and cheaper. Many individual's think that we do not need cinema and theatres in country because mostly people prefers to watch shows online, which is true in many ways. In cinemas public have to pay ticket price and bound to sit there for three to four hours whereas if they watch something on internet they can easily watch the program according to their own time management and do not need to pay any seperate amount.

On the other hand, other individual's argue that cinemas are important for economic and culture growth. Many individual's still want to watch movies on bigger screen with their family, because going to cinemas and theatres is a kind of pleaure activity and when people opt for this option they definetly pay the price of tickets which ultimately add into financial benefit of business, moreover, people likes to eat snacks while watching and they buy snacks from shops outside the cinema. Furthermore, when movie hits success and generate maximum benefits which is only possible due to cinmeas then this add economic stability in entertainment sector. Moreover, theatres can be helpful in spreading traditions of country to the youth through their shows and helpful to teach acting to youngsters.

Many people thinks cinemas are old fashion and some beleive its compulsary for growth of country. I beleive both digital platforms and cinemas are crucial for country's growth, better and effective paid application like netflix can also be helpful in generating economic benefits. Lastly its totally depends on public prefrence which they platfrom they want to opt but both options should be available to them.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and give a clear opinion that online platforms and cinemas can both benefit the economy. The discussion of online viewing is relevant, with points about convenience, timing and avoiding ticket costs; the opposing view includes cinema spending, employment or business benefits, and cultural learning. However, some ideas are asserted rather than explained. For example, the claim that successful films create “economic stability” is not clearly linked to how cinemas make this possible, and the point about theatres teaching acting is only briefly mentioned. Your conclusion repeats your position but could more directly weigh the cultural value of shared, in-person experiences against online access. Develop each main reason with a clearer explanation or example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, one paragraph for online entertainment, one for the continuing value of cinemas and theatres, and a concluding opinion. The contrast between the two views is easy to follow, and linking expressions such as “On the other hand” and “Furthermore” help signal relationships. At times, however, cohesion becomes mechanical because several sentences begin with “Moreover” or “Many individuals,” and the long second-view paragraph combines economic and cultural points without a clear internal structure. Some references are also vague, such as “this option” and “this add economic stability.” Group related points more deliberately and use clearer references so the progression feels smoother rather than list-like.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “digital platforms,” “financial benefit,” “economic stability,” “traditions,” and “entertainment sector.” These choices communicate the main ideas, and you attempt some less common expressions. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, including “entratinment,” “conveninet,” “pleaure,” and “prefrence.” Some collocations are also unnatural: “converted online,” “add into financial benefit,” and “hits success” do not express the intended meanings naturally. Repeated use of “important,” “people,” and “beneficial” limits variety. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common combinations such as “move services online,” “contribute to the economy,” and “achieve commercial success.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses with “because,” “whereas,” and “when,” and the overall meaning is generally clear. Some sentences are controlled, such as the comparison between paying for a cinema ticket and watching online at a convenient time. However, errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence construction occur in several places. For example, “everything converted online” needs a suitable verb form, “people prefers” should agree in number, and “Many people thinks” has the same agreement problem. The sentence beginning “Many individual's still want” also uses an incorrect plural form. Review subject–verb agreement and sentence boundaries, and proofread complex sentences to ensure each clause is grammatically complete.
