Student answer (Band 5.0)

In digital era people watchs moives on their laptops and feel comfortable at home, while some people still go into theatres and cinemas for watching moives spend quality time.In my opinion, both medium for watching moives and online stuff are good for entertainment.

On the one hand,in this modern era where many things are digitalise mostly people prerfer to stay home and watch entertainment material like movies, short video clips etc.For instance,if people go in theatres and cinemas firslty they made a plan and manage some spare time from their busy work life but if they watch moives at home, there is no need of planing some time for moives.

While on the other hand, theratres and cinemas are also paly an important role in our cultural. Some people love to make a plan for watching moives at cinemas because they feel comfortable in public. For example, extrovert people are very talktative and socially involve with many peoples while interovet people are less social and spend time alone with their own comapny.

In my opinion, watching online stuff at home are less time cosuming and safe while watching movies in theater are good those peoples who likes to spend time with strangers.

In conclusion, digital era giving us great oppurtunity to explore content like movies at home whereas in cinemas and open theatres are culturally significant for people to having a experiance of outdoor environment.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You give a basic response to both views and state an opinion that online viewing and cinemas can both provide entertainment. The first body paragraph explains the convenience of watching at home, while the next mentions cinemas as places for social experience. However, the task specifically asks about the economic and cultural importance of theatres and cinemas; the economic aspect is not addressed, and the cultural point is only briefly asserted rather than explained. The example about introverts and extroverts does not clearly show why cinemas matter culturally. Your position is also not fully consistent: the introduction calls both options good, but the conclusion mainly contrasts convenience with socialising. The response is 24 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop the ideas and support them with relevant examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting contrasting views, an opinion, and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “On the one hand,” “While on the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help signal the direction of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear. For example, the discussion of extroverts and introverts does not clearly connect to the cultural importance of cinemas, and the separate opinion paragraph repeats points already made without adding a clear reason. Some transitions feel mechanical, and punctuation spacing makes the flow harder to follow. To improve, organise each body paragraph around one main claim, explain it, and then give a directly relevant example; make the conclusion follow clearly from that discussion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use a basic range of topic-related vocabulary, including “digital era,” “entertainment material,” “busy work life,” and “culturally significant.” These choices make the general subject understandable, but the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors distract the reader, such as “moives,” “prerfer,” “talktative,” and “experiance.” Some expressions are also imprecise or unnatural, including “online stuff,” “comfortable in public,” and “spend time with strangers.” More precise language would help you explain the task’s economic and cultural dimensions, for example by referring to employment, local businesses, shared artistic experiences, or live performance. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations such as “watch films at home” and “attend a cinema.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a conditional contrast in “if people go in theatres and cinemas … but if they watch movies at home.” This shows an effort to connect ideas, but control is inconsistent. Errors in verb forms and agreement appear in “people watchs,” “both medium … are good,” and “watching online stuff at home are less time consuming.” Articles and sentence construction are also problematic, as in “in my cultural” and “watching movies in theater are good those peoples.” Several sentences run together because punctuation and spacing are not controlled, particularly in the opening and body paragraphs. Aim first for accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and complete sentence boundaries, then build longer sentences using clear clauses and conjunctions.
