Student answer (Band 5.5)

Although in the digital age, threatres and cinemas are no longer important but I believe both are important either you can watch all the enterainment through online or go for cinemas. In this essay I will elaborate how these both have there own importants.

Cinemas and threatres are used to be more popular in past few decades, it's because the people who don't have advanced technology or online platforms so they choice to go to cinemas. Majoritiy of people choose to go with their families and friends and few of them chocie to go alone. This is the perfect example of spending quailty time with your families and colleagues, everyone worked for whole weeks and they decide to choose cinemas for weekend or some of them work for long to time choose often leave for their families and then they choose theatres. This make the traditionally of the elders alive in help others to undersstand the culturally value of people spending times with thier own people. Moreover it helps economically by getting taxes from the producer and the ones who directed the movies and entertainment.

While on the other hands watch entertainment through online have greater benefits. For example, people nowadays have no time for cinemas they prefer to stay home, which makes them to decide to watch the entertainement through online platforms, which reduce their time and help them to save their time. As the technology get advanced and their are thousands of sites available where you can see for your favourite shows with your friends and familie while sitting in your home which will also save their time to travel to one place to another.

I believe the cinemas and theatres have thier own important by culuturally and economically while the watching online makes people life easy and people prefer to do those things which make their life easy and peaceful.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You present a position that cinemas and theatres remain important, while acknowledging that online viewing is convenient, so both sides of the discussion are recognisable. The cultural and economic points—family time, preserving traditions, and tax revenue—are relevant. However, the two views are not developed evenly: the case for online entertainment is mainly that it saves time and travel, while the economic claim about cinemas is asserted without explaining how venues support jobs or local businesses. Your opening is also unclear because it says these places are “no longer important” before stating that you believe they are important. State your position consistently and explain each main point with a specific example or consequence.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic essay structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a concluding opinion. The contrast signalled by “While on the other hands” helps readers recognise the shift to online entertainment. However, progression within paragraphs is often difficult to follow: the long passage about people working during the week moves between family time, weekends, and traditions without clear links. Several sentences also repeat the idea of saving time, and references such as “those things” in the conclusion are vague. Use shorter, more focused sentences, organise each body paragraph around one central claim, and connect examples directly to that claim rather than relying on repeated or unclear linking.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “digital age,” “online platforms,” “culturally,” and “economically,” and the reader can generally identify your intended ideas. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes meaning less clear. For example, “they choice to go to cinemas” and “the traditionally of the elders alive” do not express the intended ideas naturally; “spending quailty time” also contains a spelling error. Repetition of “time,” “people,” and “choose” further restricts precision. Build a bank of accurate phrases for discussing access, cultural value, and economic contribution, and check spelling and word forms when editing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “Although,” “because,” and “which,” but complex structures are often faulty and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to understand. The opening, “Although … no longer important but I believe,” combines incompatible linking structures. Other examples include “Cinemas and threatres are used to be” and “everyone worked for whole weeks,” where verb forms and sentence construction are not controlled. Agreement and articles are also inconsistent, as in “This make” and “the culturally value.” Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then add one subordinate clause at a time; check verb tense, subject–verb agreement, and sentence boundaries during revision.
