Student answer (Band 5.5)
Over the years, there has been a considerable debate over the evolution of entertainment platforms. Some of them argue that theaters and cinemas are not required as we can consume content online, while other believe that cinemas have its own importance for economic and cultural growth of a country.
There has been immense growth in the area of technology, where movies, films, series are all available online. One of the benefit of such evolution is that people can watch good entertainment at home and they are not required to go to theatre or cinema. Multiple platforms have been introduced in the past including Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney etc where quality content is being produced everyday. The people have been watching such quality content at home and does not feel the requirement to visit the cinemas. Another, benefit is that you only subscribe to the platform once in a month and watch unlimited movies, shows or series in one payment.
On the contrary, there is a school of thoughts who believe that cinemas plays an important role for economic and cultural growth in any country. People tend to visit cinemas to watch their favorite superstars and heroes on the big screen and enjoy the atmosphere which you cannot experience at your home. There is a dire need for the governments to make such policies where the film-makers and directors are financially supported to make quality content which attarcts the audience. For example, The legends of Maula Jutt (Movie) gained so much popularity among the people internationally even reached the film festival of China. Such recognition made an impact of Pakistan being its product.
Overall, I agree that theatres and cinemas are important for any country as it keeps their art and artists recognized among the world and beneficial in the long term.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You discuss both perspectives and make your own position clear in the conclusion: you support cinemas because they help artists gain recognition and benefit the country over time. The online-entertainment paragraph gives relevant reasons, including convenience and a single subscription for many programmes. However, the discussion is uneven: the economic and cultural value of cinemas is asserted more than explained, and the example of Maula Jutt is not clearly connected to economic benefits or to the wider cultural role of theatres. Develop each side with a specific explanation and show more explicitly how your example supports your point. This would make the response more fully developed and balanced.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for online viewing, one for cinemas, and a concluding opinion. Transitions such as “On the contrary” and “Overall” help signal the direction of the argument. Within paragraphs, however, ideas sometimes feel listed rather than progressively developed; for example, the online paragraph moves from watching at home to platform names and then subscription cost without clearly linking these points. Some linking is also mechanical, as in “Another, benefit,” and the reference in “made an impact of Pakistan being its product” is difficult to follow. Use clearer links between claims and explanations, and make references explicit so the reader can follow the argument smoothly.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of topic vocabulary, including “entertainment platforms,” “cultural growth,” “financially supported,” and “recognition.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, but several expressions are imprecise or unnatural, such as “consume content online,” “school of thoughts,” and “made an impact of Pakistan being its product.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-form errors, including “attarcts,” which reduce the accuracy of the vocabulary. Aim for more natural collocations and precise wording, especially when explaining the cultural and economic effects. For instance, describe a film as gaining international recognition and explain what that recognition contributes to the country’s film industry or cultural profile.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including the relative clause in “atmosphere which you cannot experience at your home” and the clause beginning “where the film-makers and directors are financially supported.” However, errors in agreement, articles, and sentence construction are frequent enough to make some sentences awkward. Examples include “other believe,” “cinemas have its own importance,” “One of the benefit,” and “cinemas plays.” The sentence about people watching content at home also shifts agreement: “The people … does not feel.” Review subject–verb agreement and singular/plural forms, and check articles in phrases such as “go to the theatre.” More accurate control of these basic patterns would make your ideas easier to read.
