Student answer (Band 5.0)

some people say that in this generation , theaters and cinemas are no longer important as people can watch all the entertainment through online. other people argye that theateres and cinemas are still important both economically and culturally. I think first statement is more acceptable rather than second one.

nowadays people are more attracted towarsd phone. They prefer doing everything on online by phone. And mainly now movies are streaming on online with cinemas and theatres thats why people are no longer willinng to go theatres for wtaching a movie. It is much easy to watch movies online like anyone can watch from anywhere comfortably. And theatres and cinemas are also crowded sometime it is one of the reason people avoid going to cinemas.Just beacuse people can watch all the entertainment they want online, thats why they are no longer interested in going cinemas.

Some people are believe that cinemas are still important economically and culturally i think it is more becuase of old peoples perspective. Some old people are enjoy to going cinemas and theatres. They have deep connection towards cinema .Also somtime it can be a good hangout spot for friends. And when some big superstar are launch there movie people are love to go theatres for the.

So all over i think thetres and cinemas are still important but not at much it was important bacuse of online

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You give a clear opinion that online entertainment has reduced the importance of cinemas, and you mention reasons on both sides, including convenience, crowding, older people’s attachment to cinema, and social outings. However, the discussion is only partial: the economic importance of theatres and cinemas is named in the prompt but not explained, and the cultural argument receives little development. The final sentence also weakens your position by saying cinemas remain important, while your introduction favours the opposite view, without clarifying how these claims fit together. The response contains 199 words, so it is 51 words below the required minimum; 31 words copied from the prompt were not counted. Develop each side with specific explanations or examples and state a consistent, qualified opinion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic paragraph structure: an introduction, a paragraph about online viewing, a paragraph about cinemas, and a conclusion. This helps the reader identify the main stages of your answer. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, and several ideas are joined mechanically or repeated, especially the point that people can watch entertainment online. Connectors such as “And,” “Also,” and “So all over” are either informal or do not clearly show the relationship between ideas. Some sentences run together, as in “...going to cinemas.Just because...,” which makes the argument harder to follow. Organise each body paragraph around one clear reason, then explain and illustrate it, using more precise links and clear sentence boundaries.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the general subject, including “streaming,” “crowded,” “hangout spot,” and “deep connection.” However, the range is limited and several word-choice, spelling, and collocation errors make parts difficult to read: “towarsd,” “argye,” “wtaching,” and “launch there movie” are examples. Phrases such as “doing everything on online” and “watch all the entertainment” are also imprecise or unnatural. Repetition of “important,” “people,” and “online” limits variety. Build a more accurate set of expressions for discussing access, cultural value, employment, and revenue, and check spelling and common word combinations. This will make your meaning clearer and more appropriate for an academic essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both short statements and longer sentences, and the reader can generally identify your main points. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and errors occur frequently in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “Some people are believe” should use either “Some people believe” or “Some people are of the opinion”; “people are love” has an incorrect verb pattern; and “people are no longer willinng to go” has faulty word order and verb form. Missing or misplaced punctuation also causes run-on sentences, such as the transition from “cinemas” to “Just because.” Practise forming accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with controlled clauses using “because,” “although,” and “while.”
