Student answer (Band 5.5)
Few people assume that in this modern digital era, importance of cinema halls and movies are gradually decreasing since public are able to watch all the entertainment in online websites or platforms. While other people contradict that cinemas play a crucial role in country's both economical and cultural growth.
In my view, i believe that cinema and the theatre are really important for nation's growth. Since, cinema is the cheapest form of entertainment people come to theatres to watch movies. Although, cinema has a good pull over the crowd, it also has few drawbacks were people are not able to watch movies properly.
On the one hand, multiplexes are one of the reason for our country's GDP and movies are also so engaging for the people and cinema acts as a therapy for an individual. Cinema is basically a business and and lots of money is made from it. For example, a movie is released and it gets a positive talk among the people then the show can generate lots of bucks which helps the movie producers gain profits and rise in countries GDP.
On the other hand, producers of the movie are rapidly increasing the cost of the tickets to collect bunch of money in 1 to 2 days this rapid rise in ticket prices is making public disconnected to the playhouses. Since this is happening, people are no longer watching tv shows in halls instead they are watching then in online applications which provide more movies in low cost.
In conclusion, i think that cinema is a part of growth for economical and cultural life. However, due to few parameters people are choosing online entertainment instead of theatrical experiences.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a clear opinion that cinemas remain important, and you include relevant points about their economic contribution and the appeal of online viewing. However, the discussion of the two views is uneven: the case for online entertainment is mainly reduced to rising ticket prices and lower-cost apps, while the cultural importance of cinemas is asserted rather than explained. The economic example about a successful film generating profits is relevant, but it needs clearer development, such as explaining how this supports jobs or local businesses. Your position is present, though the opening and conclusion could state more precisely why cinemas remain valuable despite online alternatives. Develop both sides more fully and connect examples directly to the task.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, a statement of opinion, two body paragraphs signposted by “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion. This helps readers follow the broad direction of the argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the second paragraph moves from cinema’s affordability to its drawbacks without explaining the connection, and the first body paragraph combines GDP, entertainment, therapy, and profits without a clear sequence. Some linking is mechanical, particularly repeated use of “Since” and “Although,” and the final paragraph largely repeats the opinion rather than drawing the discussion together. Organise each body paragraph around one main claim, then explain and illustrate it in a logical order.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “multiplexes,” “GDP,” “ticket prices,” and “theatrical experiences,” which helps communicate the subject. There are also attempts at less common expressions, such as “disconnected to the playhouses,” but several choices are inaccurate or unnatural and make the argument less precise. For example, “movies are gradually decreasing” does not clearly express that cinema attendance or importance is declining, while “positive talk” and “bunch of money” are informal or imprecise for an academic essay. “Economical growth” is also not the natural form for this meaning. Aim for accurate collocations and a more consistently formal register, using specific terms such as “cinema attendance,” “box-office revenue,” and “economic growth.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of simple and complex sentences, including clauses beginning with “While,” “Although,” and “Since.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence construction, agreement, articles, and punctuation sometimes make the meaning harder to follow. For instance, “Since, cinema is the cheapest form of entertainment people come to theatres” is an incomplete or poorly joined sentence, and “multiplexes are one of the reason” has a number-agreement error. The opening also has a faulty contrast structure: “Few people assume … While other people contradict” does not form a complete, balanced sentence. Capitalise “I,” avoid comma splices, and check singular/plural agreement. Practising accurate complex sentences will help you express relationships between ideas more clearly.
