Student answer (Band 5.0)
People always engage themselves with social activities to live fresh and happy. Theatres and cinemas were special places that were formed for that purposes. However, in the modern era, digital media has transformed the entertainment industry. Several online platforms are built on which individuals can interact with one another and can perform various activities to keep their mind fresh. This essay will discuss both sides and explains why I partially agree with online sources of entertainment are more beneficial.
About 70 years ago, when individuals have no special activities to keep themselves happy and can improve their mental conditions, theatres and cenimas played a crutial role. Basically, within a theatre or a cinema, multiple people do various activities or talk with each other in such a way that people can make fun and keeps themselves refresh. It was a great invention. Alot of people go their and spend quality of time to make their time enjoyably.
On the other hand, in modern age, digital media also play a vital role to interact people with each other. In todays world, shortage of time and bundle of works are the key problems with almost all people. They donot have enough time to to any theatre or a cinema to spend their time. Relaxation is basic need for any person. Every individual must need something that can make him recharge of his boaring activities. Online platforms are built that provides all sources where people can enjoy and relax. Online movies and talk showa are avialable that can be watched at any time. Whenever, an individual gets time he could watch them.
To sum up, both theatres or cinemas and online sources are built to keep people mentally strong and relax. However, online entertainment is more demanded and beneficial in todays world.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
The response recognises the two broad views and gives a preference for online entertainment, but it only partially answers the specific discussion. The theatre-and-cinema paragraph mainly describes socialising and relaxation; it does not explain their economic or cultural importance, which is central to the prompt. The online paragraph gives practical reasons—limited time and the convenience of watching programmes whenever available—but these points are general and are not supported with a concrete example. The position is also not fully clear: “I partially agree” is followed by the conclusion that online entertainment is “more demanded and beneficial,” without explaining what aspect of the opposing view you still accept. Develop both sides in direct relation to the question and state a consistent, supported opinion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Phrases such as “On the other hand” and “To sum up” help signal these stages, and the reader can generally follow the contrast between traditional venues and online entertainment. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes weak: the first body paragraph moves from historical context to social activities without clearly connecting these points to the cultural or economic value of venues. Some linking is mechanical, and references such as “that purposes” and “them” are not always clear. Improve cohesion by organising each body paragraph around one main claim, then explaining and illustrating it before moving to the next point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the main ideas, with relevant terms such as “digital media,” “online platforms,” “entertainment industry,” and “Relaxation.” However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or unnatural choices make the writing less clear, including “keep their mind fresh,” “make their time enjoyably,” and “bundle of works.” Spelling errors such as “cenimas,” “crutial,” “boaring,” and “avialable” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise language about the prompt’s themes, especially cultural value and economic contribution, rather than repeating general ideas about relaxation. Learning common collocations and checking spelling would make your meaning more natural and reliable.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of simple and longer sentences, including clauses beginning with “when” and “Whenever,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in verb forms and agreement appear in examples such as “This essay will discuss both sides and explains” and “Online platforms are built that provides.” There are also problems with infinitives and sentence construction in “They donot have enough time to to any theatre,” while “multiple people do various activities or talk with each other in such a way that people can make fun and keeps themselves refresh” contains several grammatical problems that obscure the intended meaning. Work on subject–verb agreement, verb patterns, and forming clear clauses. More accurate simple sentences would help before adding complex structures.
