Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is often argued that in today's age theatres and cinema are no longer needed because all the things are now easily available online. While others think its still significant for our society and I think the same as other ones.
Overall, there are two categories of people in our society. The one category of persons think its important economically and culturally. For instance, People go for movies with friends and families to spend quality time. Personally, I love to watch movies at cinema's. I plan the whole day when I heard about some upcoming movie because I enjoy spending time with my friends. Cinemas are doing great businesses these days so its helping in country's economy and also providing the jobs to local people. There is one more thing which is new movies can only be seen in the cinemas they post online after some time and in that time period you get many spoilers and for me I lost the interest in movie.
Besides that, there are few persons who enjoy watching movies at home in their comfort place. Nowadays, people are so busy and their scedule are so packed that they have no free time. So, when they have some they try to spend with the family in their comfort place. For instance, some watch online because of the budget.
To conclude that, Theatres and cinema's are very common and significant ways of entertainment. People have to visit once a month to freshen up their moods and to get away from the worries. It's very important for mental peace too.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a clear personal preference for cinemas, and you include relevant reasons such as shared outings, employment, and the delay before films appear online. However, the discussion of the online-entertainment view is brief: you mention busy schedules, comfort, and budget, but do not explain how online viewing can replace or complement theatres in broader terms. The economic and cultural importance of cinemas is also asserted more than developed; the examples focus mainly on your own experience and jobs, with little explanation of cultural value. Your position is present, but “I think the same as other ones” is vague. State your view directly in the introduction and develop both sides with more balanced explanation and specific support.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable introduction, body paragraphs and conclusion, and the ideas are generally grouped by viewpoint. Examples such as going to the cinema with friends and watching at home for budget reasons help illustrate the points. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes loose: the first body paragraph moves from social enjoyment to employment, then spoilers, without clearly linking these as separate reasons. Phrases such as “Overall, there are two categories” and “Besides that” do not always establish the relationship between ideas, and the conclusion introduces recommendations about visiting monthly and mental peace rather than synthesising the discussion. Use clearer topic sentences, connect each example to its main claim, and make the conclusion reflect the arguments already presented.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “economically and culturally,” “quality time,” “country’s economy,” “spoilers,” and “comfort place.” These choices show an attempt to discuss both social and economic aspects. However, the range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “theatres and cinema,” “doing great businesses,” “comfort place,” and “freshen up our moods.” Spelling errors such as “scedule” also reduce accuracy. Repetition of “people,” “movies,” and “important” limits flexibility. Build a more precise range of collocations for entertainment and cultural value, and check spelling and word forms when editing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some longer sentences and use clauses to explain reasons, for example, “Nowadays, people are so busy … that they have no free time” and “Cinemas are doing great businesses these days so its helping…”. However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often not controlled accurately. Errors include “While others think its still significant” as an incomplete sentence, “their scedule are so packed” with subject–verb disagreement, and “when I heard about some upcoming movie” where the tense does not fit the general meaning. There are also problems with sentence boundaries and punctuation, including “free time.So”. Practise complete sentence structures, agreement, tense consistency, and punctuation, then proofread for recurring errors.
