Student answer (Band 5.5)

Many people believe that in the era of AI, theatres and cinemas are given less importance because people can easily watch every thing online by using their phones. Other people think that theatres and cinemas are crucial in life and still have the importance in our culture and tradition. In my perspective, theatres and cinemas are the old fanshion because currently its the world of digital age and we can easily watch anything while traveling, relaxing or even in friends circle in our phones.

On the one hand, theatres and cinemas still have importance in many cultures and people love to watch dramas or movie in the theatres. Firstly people love to sit with the strangers and enjoys eating snacks during film and watching big screen infront of them. Thats why residents do not care how much money is spend on ticket but they only need the entertainment. For example, in Pakistan citizens love to go to cinema to watch the drama (Dar-e-nijat) in this drama the culture of Pakistan is described and it is also coreleated to islamic point of view.

On the other hand, people think that cinemas and theatres are waste of time and waste of money thats why people prefer to watch any thing online or by using differ platforms (Youtube, Netflix). For instance, in Pakistan citizens love to watch (Money Hiest) seasons on smart phone rather than going outside.

In conclusion, rather than watching movies on cinemas or theatres we can watch online as we are in digital age and its not time to waste money but we can spend this time on other activities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You present a clear preference for online entertainment in the introduction and conclusion, and you include a paragraph for each view. The examples of Pakistani cinema and watching Money Heist online are relevant to the topic. However, the discussion is only partly developed: the cultural value of cinema is illustrated, but its economic importance, explicitly mentioned in the prompt, is not addressed. The reasons for preferring online viewing are also brief, mainly that it saves money and time, without much explanation. Your position is clear overall, but the opening calls theatres “old fashion” without explaining this judgement. Develop both sides more fully and make sure to discuss the economic as well as cultural role of venues.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs beginning “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion. These signposts make the two views easy to identify, and the examples generally appear beside the point they support. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes abrupt. For example, the claim that people enjoy sitting with strangers and eating snacks moves quickly to ticket prices without clearly connecting these details to the cultural or economic importance of cinemas. Some linking phrases, such as “Firstly” and “Thats why,” feel mechanical, and the conclusion repeats the preference for online viewing rather than drawing together the discussion. Use clearer links between claims and explanations, and refer back to the two sides in the conclusion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “digital age,” “culture and tradition,” “entertainment,” and “platforms.” The examples also make the discussion concrete. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or informal, which can make the reader pause. Phrases such as “old fanshion,” “every thing,” “friends circle,” and “waste of time and waste of money” could be expressed more precisely. There are also spelling errors, including “coreleated” and “Hiest.” Aim for accurate, natural combinations and a more formal register; for example, describe online viewing as “convenient” and explain that cinemas contribute to the “local economy.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, and the overall meaning is usually understandable. However, the range of structures is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. For example, “people love to watch dramas or movie” has a number-agreement problem, while “people … enjoys” has incorrect subject–verb agreement. In “its the world of digital age,” the sentence is missing an apostrophe and an article; “how much money is spend” also has an incorrect passive verb form. Punctuation is inconsistent, particularly where commas are missing after introductory phrases and around sentence boundaries. Practise accurate agreement, articles, and verb forms, then proofread each sentence for punctuation and complete grammatical structure.
