Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The essay addresses both viewpoints and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention streaming platforms and the cultural value of live performances, the arguments lack depth and specific examples. For instance, the discussion on economic benefits is mentioned in the prompt but remains largely undeveloped in your body paragraphs. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is supported with more detailed reasoning or concrete examples. The introduction is also slightly repetitive, and the conclusion is quite brief, failing to fully summarise the main points discussed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'In these essay we have discussed' and 'Further, it shows there is no need'. Some transitions between sentences feel abrupt, and the referencing is occasionally unclear. While the overall progression is logical, the flow could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that connects back to the main prompt.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your meaning, including terms like 'contemporary', 'irrelevant', 'heritage', and 'integral'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'available on our fingertips' (should be 'at our fingertips') and 'potray their story' (spelling error). Additionally, some expressions are repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'theatres and cinemas'. To improve, try to use more precise collocations and synonyms to avoid repetition and demonstrate a more sophisticated control of language.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally hinder the flow, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('theatres has been part', 'theatres and cinemas are irrelevant... while others say that its more cultural'), and punctuation errors. The use of articles is also inconsistent. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on proofreading for basic errors like verb tense consistency and singular/plural agreement to improve your accuracy.
