Student answer (Band 7.0)
It is widely argued that cinemas and theatres provide a great experience of entertainment, while others believe that there's no longer any need for them as a result of the digital evolution. Today, I'll be discussing both views and finding out which is more realistic.
Personally, I strongly believe that cinemas and theatres are important economically and culturally. I have reasons to prove my point of view.
First of all, it is true that they can be replaced by online streaming sites. But, that does not mean that they've lost their value, simply for the fact that they include a fantastic vibe which everyone enjoys. You are basically sitting with a lot of people who you can share your reactions and experience with, instead of sitting at home and watching your favourite show alone, on a small screen.
Additionally, people who are less social tend to have no interest in being with others, this is why they think the digital age has replaced cinemas and theatres. While this is the case for many individuals, many people prefer being around others and love to feel the fun vibe. I myself am one of those people.
Moreover, cinemas and theaters have a significant effect on the economy and culture. They attract a high number of people, which means more money for the country, in addition to tourists and people from abroad getting to know the traditions of the country.
In conclusion, cinemas and theatres are greats sources of income and culture popularity. They provide a fun experience. I advise everyone to not forget their importance and make sure to encourage investment in them.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both the digital shift and the ongoing importance of physical venues. You clearly state your position in the introduction and maintain it throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, while you mention the economic impact, you do not provide specific examples or deeper analysis of how these venues contribute to the economy beyond a general statement. To reach a higher band, ensure that your supporting arguments are more thoroughly explored with concrete details or logical extensions rather than relying on personal preference or brief assertions.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'First of all', 'Additionally', and 'Moreover' to signal the transition between ideas. While these are effective, the flow between sentences is sometimes a bit mechanical. The paragraphing is appropriate, and each paragraph focuses on a central theme. To improve, try to use a wider variety of cohesive devices and ensure that the relationship between ideas is more sophisticated, moving beyond simple additive transitions to show contrast or consequence more fluidly.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'digital evolution', 'streaming sites', and 'investment'. However, the vocabulary is somewhat repetitive and lacks the precision required for higher bands. Phrases like 'fantastic vibe' and 'fun experience' are quite informal and generic. To improve, aim for more academic and precise collocations. For example, instead of 'fun vibe', you could use 'immersive atmosphere' or 'communal experience'. The spelling is accurate throughout, and the vocabulary used is sufficient to convey your meaning clearly without any ambiguity.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 7.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are some minor grammatical errors, such as 'greats sources' (should be 'great sources') and 'I advise everyone to not forget' (split infinitive, though acceptable, 'not to forget' is more formal). Punctuation is generally correct, though some sentences could be more complex to demonstrate a wider range. The majority of your sentences are error-free, and your meaning is always clear. To move to a higher band, incorporate more varied complex structures, such as conditional sentences or passive voice, while maintaining your current level of accuracy.
