Student answer (Band 7.0)
It is considered by many individuals that due to the availability of internet sources to do entertainment, theatres and cinemas are not required anymore, while others argue that economic and cultural value of theatres and cineams is still necessary. I believe that both are equally essential as online websites provides more accessibility and budget-friendly options, the importance of theatres and cineams in enhancing the profit and creating unity is still valuable.
On the one hand, online platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime has made it easy to watch movies and shows from anywhere and anytime by just downloading them. This leads to more convenient method to spend leisure time by doing entertainment at a comfort place rather than visiting cinemas. Additionally, watching acts or dramas in theatres are quiet expensive beacuse people need to obtain tickets and travel expenses are high to visit there. Thus, opting to watch the same dramas on websites like Youtube on live streams is more cheaper. So, accessibility and less cost of online entertainment made theatres and cinemas less essential.
On the other hand, economically theatres and cinemas are still significant because they facilitate film industries to increase their profit. Promotions are done via celebrities by visiting cinema halls to attract public and inspire them to watch movies through advance bookings in cinemas. As a result, more public go in cinemas, more money the film makers will earn, which cannot be possible by online viewings. Culturally, in entertaining places like theatres and cinemas, individuals from diverse backgrounds get opportunity to meet each. This creates a sense of unity among them and also when they watch movies related to their religion, culture or tribe, they can recieve more information. Hence, more revenue and knowledge can only be gained by visiting cinemas and theatres only.
In conclusion, although doing entertainment online by watching shows on different platforms gives more flexibility and cost-effective options, the importance of theatres and cinemas in society and for film industry as a whole makes it vital culturally and economically, respectively. Therefore, a balanced approach between both entertainment methods is necessary to be maintained because of their own importance.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5
You have addressed all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. Your ideas are relevant and logically extended, particularly in the second and third paragraphs. To reach a higher band, ensure that your arguments are fully developed; for instance, the point about 'unity' in the third paragraph could be supported with a more specific example of how a cinema experience differs from a home environment. Overall, your position is consistent throughout the essay, and you have successfully balanced the two perspectives as requested by the task instructions.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand,' 'On the other hand,' and 'Additionally' to guide the reader through your arguments. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing (e.g., 'visit there' in the second paragraph is slightly awkward). Paragraphing is used appropriately, and the progression of ideas is clear. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their intended nouns.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'accessibility,' 'budget-friendly,' and 'diverse backgrounds.' There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'do entertainment' (should be 'consume entertainment') and 'more cheaper' (a grammatical error that also affects lexical precision). You attempt to use less common vocabulary, but some phrases are slightly unnatural. To improve, focus on collocations—for example, instead of 'doing entertainment,' use 'engaging in entertainment' or 'viewing content.' Expanding your range of topic-specific vocabulary related to the film industry would also be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While your meaning is generally clear, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation. For example, 'online platforms... has made' (subject-verb agreement), 'watching acts... are quiet expensive' (should be 'quite'), and 'more public go in cinemas, more money... will earn' (missing articles and comparative structure). These errors do not impede communication, but they are noticeable. To reach a higher band, work on subject-verb agreement, the correct use of articles, and refining your comparative structures (e.g., 'the more people who go to cinemas, the more money filmmakers earn').
