Student answer (Band 6.5)
This essay discuss the impacts of theatres and cinemas in today's digital era, because some individuals think it is not much more fascinating anymore. I will give reasons at the end of essay to prove it is still popular today, but requires some transformations.
In this age, the concept of Cinema and theatre is still appealing for people of different communities and ages, its not about trends its all about interest. Many peoples take it as a kind of pleasure or spending some quality time with their loved ones. For instance, employees who spends a week in the same laptop could not spend their weekend on watching films and series on Personal computer, they prefer going out like shopping malls enjoys the newly launched films.
On the other hand, newly launched movies are not available completely on internet.
Besides this, theatre and cinemas adds a significant add on's to our economy. If these stop working it will affect, jobs of many workers.
These are also crucial for culture, they taught individuals how to sit in a disciplined way, and without disturbing other's you are still able to fun. Everything has some adverse or positive impacts. People belong to poor towns can't afford the tickets of theatres.
I hold the view that the prices should be fluctuates slightly so everyone can afford and get the advantage. I strongly agree to adapt a balance approach, it will not only engage the audience but also boost the economy. The quality of online series are not good, and on paid apps you also have to pay, so if cinemas tickets are budget friendly more people will start purchasing, it leads to positive impacts which surges the importance of theatre and cinemas.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The essay addresses both views and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the argument regarding the economic impact is mentioned but not fully explained or supported with specific examples. The discussion on cultural importance is also brief and lacks depth. While the position is clear, the supporting arguments would benefit from more detailed elaboration to reach a higher band. The essay structure is present, but the content remains at a general level rather than providing a nuanced analysis of the digital age versus traditional venues.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally inaccurate. For example, the transition 'Besides this' is used, but the connection between sentences is sometimes weak, such as the abrupt shift between the economic impact and the cultural point. Paragraphing is present, but the internal structure of the paragraphs could be improved to ensure a smoother flow of logic. Referencing is generally clear, but the overall cohesion lacks the flexibility and sophistication required for higher bands.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'significant add on's' and 'prices should be fluctuates'. The student relies on basic vocabulary and occasionally uses words incorrectly, such as 'surges the importance'. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the range is limited, and there is little evidence of less common lexical items or idiomatic language. To improve, the student should focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensuring correct word forms and collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('This essay discuss', 'theatre and cinemas adds'), incorrect verb forms ('employees who spends'), and punctuation errors. While the meaning is usually clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. The student should focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, particularly with verb tenses and pluralisation, and attempt to use a wider range of complex structures with greater control.
