Student answer (Band 6.0)
Yes some people say that in the digital age , theatres and cinemas are no longer important as people can watch all the entertainments they want online. Platforms like Netflix, hotstar and prime are booming they make you comfortable because you can see movies or series at your own speed or at your own comfortable time, you can also watch anytime according to your vibe , mood or language these benefits are not available on theatres and cinemas nowadays people love there own company or there own pease time and they also do not have time to go out for theatre or cinema but others argue that theatres and cinemas are still important both economically and culturally however it is true economically and culturally theatres and cinemas gives that impact because these help to get people at one place with one mindset they also enhance knowledge and economically it will give benefits to our ,country and to the people who has invested their head work and money while making movie. According to my opinion I think both are important because for old generation theatres and Cinemas are still alive and important they would understand the vibe, the connection they feel in theatre will not make them connect in online entertainment platform and for new generation online entertainments platforms are more comfortable and it is less time consuming it more aesthetic to them.
And in the end i would like to say they both are important something’s are better for theatres and cinemas.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the task. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention economic and cultural benefits, these points are not fully extended or supported with concrete examples. The discussion remains somewhat superficial, relying on general statements rather than detailed analysis. To improve, ensure each main idea is supported by a clear explanation or a specific example. The position is clear, but the overall structure lacks the depth required for a higher band score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay lacks clear paragraphing, which is essential for a high-scoring IELTS response. The entire text is presented as one block, making it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of ideas. While there are some attempts at cohesive devices (e.g., 'however', 'in the end'), they are used inconsistently. The flow between sentences is often abrupt, and the lack of logical separation between the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion hinders the overall coherence. Using clear paragraph breaks and a wider range of linking words would significantly improve the logical flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'comfortable time', 'vibe', and 'important' are used frequently. There are also some errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'pease time' (peace time) and 'head work'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise and varied vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'cinematic experience', 'convenience', 'cultural significance', or 'economic viability'. The current range is sufficient to convey meaning but lacks the flexibility and precision needed for a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, particularly regarding punctuation, sentence structure, and subject-verb agreement. Many sentences are run-on sentences that lack proper punctuation, such as 'Platforms like Netflix, hotstar and prime are booming they make you comfortable'. There are also frequent errors with articles and pluralization, such as 'in theatres and cinemas' (should be 'at') and 'theatres and Cinemas are still alive'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of control over complex structures and the prevalence of basic errors limit the score. Focusing on sentence boundaries and basic grammatical accuracy is essential.
