Student answer (Band 6.5)
Some individuals believe that theaters and cinemas are not much important in today's digital world as people can watch anything online while, some argue that theaters and cinemas are still has significant importance in economically and culturally. In my opinion, theaters and cinemas are equally important in this digital era.
As some persons believe that watching movies in cinemas and comedy in theaters are still important for the welfare of our economy and help to promote our culture. They are right according to their point of view. For instance, today most of the people spent much of time on screens of their personal devices but most of their focus are online platforms. No one is interested to know about their cultures. However, when someone go to cinema and a theater there they have to watch something interesting away from usual. Furthermore, in theater they always played some traditional dramas in which individuals have a lot to learn about their heritage. Thus, spending money to buy tickets for a play help to promote our economy.
On the other hand, those who argue that theaters and cinemas are no longer crucial for people they have their own perspective to look in this modern era. For example, some using their phones for online communications, entertainments and fun as well. Moreover, they scroll reels used distinct apps such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and many others. However, they simply entertain themselves online. From my perspective, cinema halls and theater played a crucial role in well being and promotion of our economy and culture.
In conclusion, watching movies, dramas and other entertaining stuffs online rather than in cinemas and theaters has their own advantages however, they are significantly promoting culture and economical condition of country.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For example, the argument regarding the economic impact of theaters is mentioned but not fully explained or supported with specific evidence. The ideas are relevant, but the explanation remains at a surface level, which prevents a higher score. To improve, you should expand on your points by providing more detailed reasoning or specific examples of how theaters contribute to local economies or cultural preservation, rather than just stating that they do.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion' to link your thoughts. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly repetitive. Additionally, some sentences lack smooth transitions, making the flow feel a bit disjointed in places. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that the relationship between sentences is always clear to the reader.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'digital era', 'heritage', and 'online platforms'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'not much important' instead of 'not very important' and 'entertaining stuffs' (a non-count noun). The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, and you rely on basic phrasing at times. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary and ensure correct word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('theaters and cinemas are still has significant importance') and incorrect verb forms ('when someone go to cinema'). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your main points, they are noticeable and occur frequently enough to impact the overall fluency. To improve, pay closer attention to subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles and prepositions.
