While few individuals are of the opinion that digital age, theatres and cinemas are no longer significant as people can now have full access to entertainment online. whereas other say that theatres and cinemas are still economically and culturally beneficial.

One reason why people say Cinemas are no longer significant as it were in the past, this is because with growing innovation in various sectors such as in the invention of super-fast internet connection, the society tilted towards the use of websites more. Consequently, with that being in vogue movie producers opted to making their films, videos accessible on-net instead of through the cinemas and theatres.

On the other hand, one of the major reason why other people are of the opinion cinemas and movie theatres are economically and culturally important, is because in the past, movies centers used to be where family members meet together to share a memorable time together, such environment like theatres and cinema environs are usually surrounded by shops and marts patronized by individuals who were there to see movies. for example, in Jeddah Saudi Arabia. the government, preserved the olden day theatres and cinema which are still in use today because shops within its surrounding provided source of livelihood for its locals and means to preserving the culture there society.

In conclusion, few individuals are of the opinion that digital age, theatres and cinemas are no longer significant, because people now have full access to super-fast internet to see entertain online whereas other people argue theatres and cinema are still significant as it generates source of livelihood for local people and preserves their culture.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both views and provides an opinion, though the position is not clearly stated in the introduction. The ideas are relevant, such as the convenience of online streaming versus the economic and cultural value of physical venues. However, the development is somewhat limited; the argument regarding the economic impact in Jeddah is a good example, but the overall analysis lacks depth. The conclusion merely restates the prompt rather than synthesising the arguments or reinforcing the writer's stance. To improve, ensure the opinion is explicitly stated in the introduction and consistently supported throughout the body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. There is an attempt to use cohesive devices like 'Consequently' and 'On the other hand', but these are sometimes used incorrectly or lead to awkward phrasing. The flow between sentences is occasionally interrupted by grammatical errors, making the progression feel mechanical. Referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly in the opening paragraph where the sentence structure is fragmented. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly enhance the logical flow of the essay.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express basic ideas. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary such as 'innovation', 'livelihood', and 'patronized'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choices and collocations, such as 'movie centers' instead of 'cinemas' and 'see entertain online' instead of 'watch entertainment online'. Some phrases are repetitive, and the range of vocabulary is somewhat limited. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise academic collocations and avoiding informal or non-standard phrasing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'other say'), sentence fragments (e.g., the opening sentence is not a complete clause), and incorrect punctuation, such as the misuse of full stops before 'for example'. The use of articles and prepositions is also inconsistent. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic sentence construction prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for basic sentence structure and punctuation would be beneficial.
