As we move in to the 21st century, there are divided opinions. However, others are counter claim that theatres and cinemas are still importance both economically and culturally. Both the viewpoints would be discussed in the upcoming paragraph with valid reasons and appropriate examples.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both views and provides an opinion, but the development is limited. The essay is under the 250-word minimum, which negatively impacts the depth of the arguments. While the points regarding convenience and cultural preservation are relevant, they are not fully extended or supported with sufficient detail. The conclusion is incomplete, cutting off abruptly, which prevents a clear final summary of the position. To improve, you must ensure you meet the word count requirement by expanding on your examples and providing a more thorough analysis of the economic and cultural impacts mentioned in the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay uses basic cohesive devices such as 'To begin with' and 'On the other hand' to signal transitions between paragraphs. However, the logical flow is hindered by the incomplete nature of the conclusion. Paragraphing is present, but the development within the paragraphs is somewhat mechanical. Referencing is generally clear, but the overall structure feels underdeveloped due to the lack of sufficient content. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, fully developed topic sentence followed by supporting evidence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks sophistication. You use some relevant terms like 'convenience', 'flexibility', and 'cultural identity', but there are noticeable errors in word choice and form, such as 'all the genre' (should be 'genres'), 'newly realise' (should be 'released'), and 'tickets are expansive' (should be 'expensive'). These errors do not impede communication, but they limit the precision of your writing. To improve, focus on learning collocations and ensuring you use the correct word forms in context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that detract from the quality of the writing. Examples include 'people can watch online shows... with using their smartphones' (should be 'by using'), 'movies that is first time shown' (should be 'that are shown for the first time'), and 'theatres and cinemas are still play' (should be 'still play'). While the meaning remains clear, these errors are persistent. Increasing your control over subject-verb agreement and prepositional usage will help improve your score in this criterion.
