Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both views and provides a personal opinion, but the development is inconsistent. While you mention the economic and cultural importance of theatres, the arguments are under-developed and lack depth. For example, the claim that theatres are the 'identity and heritage of country' is a good point but is not expanded upon. The first paragraph is slightly confusing, as it states that theatres play a pivotal role while simultaneously suggesting they are no longer important. To improve, ensure each body paragraph focuses on one clear argument supported by specific, logical reasoning rather than general statements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression is often hindered by awkward transitions and unclear referencing. Phrases like 'an important come in the phone' are difficult to follow, and the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or misused, such as the abrupt start to the second paragraph. The connection between sentences is frequently broken, making it difficult for the reader to track your argument. Using a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'nevertheless') and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their antecedents would significantly improve the flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and often imprecise, which occasionally impedes communication. You rely on basic phrasing and some word choices are incorrect, such as 'there is no need to watch movie in the cinemas' or 'it preserve money'. There are also issues with collocation, such as 'seen movie with enthusiastically'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise academic vocabulary and focus on correct word forms. Avoid repeating simple words like 'important' or 'role' and try to incorporate more topic-specific terminology related to media and culture.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'it reduce time'), incorrect article usage, and awkward phrasing that makes sentences difficult to parse. For instance, 'I have seen several human who prefer' should be 'I have seen many people who prefer'. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and punctuation prevents the writing from being considered fluent. Focusing on sentence construction and proofreading for basic errors will help improve your score.
