Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is often argued that in this modern era cinemas and theaters are not much that important as everything( entertainment) can be seen online, others believe that cinemas are still important in a kind of both economical and cultural aspect. Although both opinions have their own merits and strong backend reasons. In this essay I will discuss both point of views and give my own personal opinion in the end.
Cinemas have now much importance and more entertainment aspect than ever before. I personally believe that movies are only worth watching in cinemas because it creates a such dynamic interface for the people to see that creates a more enthusiastic and energized environment around too.
Secondly, movies can only be found true interesting when there are watched purely focused without any distraction and it would add more fruits when watched with friends. I think that movies can only be found truly enjoyable when it should be watched with its all peak moments like for in entertainment industry the cinema hall would be full when the actor/artist comes by its own and he/she have a huge large audience also.
Also, many people argues that movies and films can be watched through online apps and websites but the main concern is that it should not be much more exciting than watching in a theatre or in a cinema. Yes, there is a valid point that you can watch it for free but it doesn't complies with my interest. Also there is no big wide screen for such a film than it shouldn't be worth watching it.
To conclude this, I would say that films are only worth watching in cinemas/theatre and their importance have not been decreased a little bit in this digital age benefiting both cultural and economical growth, I don't think their demand has been decreased a little bit.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention economic and cultural aspects in the introduction, you do not elaborate on these in the body paragraphs, focusing instead almost exclusively on the personal experience of watching movies. The arguments regarding the 'economic' importance are mentioned in the conclusion but are not supported by any evidence or explanation in the body. To reach a higher band, you must ensure that each point mentioned in the prompt is explored with specific examples or logical reasoning.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive (e.g., 'Secondly', 'Also', 'To conclude this'). Some transitions are awkward, such as 'it would add more fruits when watched with friends', which does not clearly link to the previous point. The progression of ideas within paragraphs is sometimes disjointed, particularly in the second paragraph where the focus shifts abruptly between the 'dynamic interface' and the 'actor/artist'. More varied linking words would improve the flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and sophistication. There are several instances of unnatural phrasing, such as 'not much that important', 'backend reasons', and 'it doesn't complies with my interest'. You rely on basic descriptors like 'big wide screen' and 'huge large audience'. To improve, you should focus on using more precise collocations and academic vocabulary. Avoid informal phrasing and ensure that your word choices accurately reflect the intended meaning rather than relying on repetitive or slightly misused terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
There is a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the accuracy is inconsistent. You frequently make errors in subject-verb agreement and word order, such as 'many people argues' and 'when there are watched'. Punctuation is also problematic, with some sentences being run-on or missing necessary commas. While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors in basic grammar prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and ensuring that complex sentences are constructed with correct clause markers.
