On the one hand, many people believe that now days people prefer to see all kinds of movies, shows and podcast on online ,as it provides several advantages. This is mainly because some times people buy expensive ticket and they do not get the quality they deserve for the money they pay for them, some time their screens get damaged and sometimes the movie starts late in the theater and some time it starts early . in daily life people often go want a movie comfortably at home, so they do not have to go to a theater, which also save their time. . Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument but fails to develop the ideas sufficiently. The arguments are repetitive and lack specific examples or logical depth. For instance, the point about 'expensive tickets' is mentioned, but the discussion on the cultural and economic importance of cinemas is largely ignored or left undeveloped. The student's own opinion is stated in the conclusion but lacks supporting reasoning, making the position unclear throughout the essay. The response is underdeveloped and does not fully meet the requirements of a discursive essay.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow of ideas is frequently interrupted by grammatical errors and awkward phrasing. While some cohesive devices like 'On the one hand' and 'In conclusion' are used, they are often followed by disjointed sentences. The referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the transition between ideas is abrupt. The logical progression is hindered by the lack of clear topic sentences and the repetitive nature of the arguments presented.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. The student relies on basic terms like 'important', 'good', and 'funny time' (which is an incorrect collocation for 'enjoyable time'). There are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'go want a movie' and 'see all kinds of movies... on online'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas effectively, and the lack of precision in word choice occasionally makes the intended meaning difficult to follow.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that impede readability. There are issues with sentence structure, such as 'It often argued that...' (missing 'is') and 'Others argue that Others argue that...' (repetition). Punctuation is inconsistent, with many misplaced commas and periods, such as 'online ,as' and 'fact that. For instance,Many'. The range of grammatical structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences with frequent errors in verb tense, article usage, and subject-verb agreement. These errors are pervasive and affect the overall clarity of the writing.
