Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is an undeniable fact that theatres and cinema plays paramount role in person's life in today's contemporary epoch. some individuals believe that in this digital age theatres and cinemas are no longer paramount as people have access to it from home, while other believes that theatres and cinemas are important for both economically and culturally, my opinion is described below.
To commence with some people view, they think that theatres and cinemas are no longer profitable as they are easily available from home. To elaborate this, the people get advanced with the technology, as it offers wide range of free access to new movies and and the shows. For instance, in today's time the people have so many website like Castle, Telegram, Netflix and many more which offers free shows or movies. Secondly, plethora of people gets the spoiler of the movies through the Instagram reels. As a result, people ignore theatres and cinemas for watching movie and other shows and they prefer to watch it on mobile phones and laptops.
On the other hand some other people believes that the theatres and cinemas are still important both economically and culturally in a pragmatic way. the first thing is that some movie producers have rights through which the other platforms are gets imposed through hefty amount in court, as they do not have the rights to display the movie. Moreover, plethora of people want to experience movies in a big screen so that audience will definitely go to watch it and it also profits the cinemas much more, as some of the people prefer to buy foods and drinks in the theatres.
The inexorable discussion on this subject matter can keep on going, but observing the finer nuance, i would like to espouse my notion that both the views are appropriate and the free access of movie is possible until the producers don't impose heavy penalty as an copyright and if penalty get imposed then theatres starts to benefit.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the argument regarding economic benefits is vague, focusing on legal rights and food sales rather than broader cultural or economic impacts. The conclusion is slightly confusing, as it suggests the future of cinemas depends solely on copyright penalties, which does not fully capture the complexity of the prompt. To reach a higher band, you should provide more detailed examples and ensure your position is clearly articulated and consistently supported throughout the essay.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'Secondly', and 'On the other hand'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly unnatural. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'the other platforms are gets imposed through hefty amount', which makes the logical flow difficult to follow. Paragraphing is present, but the transition between the body paragraphs and the conclusion could be smoother to improve the overall progression of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some more sophisticated phrases like 'contemporary epoch', 'inexorable discussion', and 'espouse my notion'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'theatres and cinema plays paramount role' (should be 'play a paramount role') and 'plethora of people gets the spoiler'. Some vocabulary is used incorrectly, which occasionally impacts the precision of your arguments. Focusing on natural collocations and ensuring words are used in the correct context will help improve this score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that affect clarity. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('other believes', 'theatres starts'), incorrect verb forms ('are gets imposed'), and missing articles ('in a big screen' should be 'on a big screen'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. You should focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that complex sentence structures are grammatically sound.
