Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While the arguments regarding convenience and economic impact are relevant, they lack depth and specific examples. The position is clear, but the conclusion is brief and does not fully synthesize the arguments presented. To reach a higher band, you should aim to provide more nuanced explanations and perhaps a concrete example of a specific cultural event or economic statistic to support your claims.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To begin', 'Moreover', and 'On the other hand'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as the awkward phrasing in 'To begin, with the plethora of reasons why theatres and cinema why it is not major'. Additionally, some sentences lack smooth transitions, making the flow feel a bit disjointed at times. Improving the variety and naturalness of your linking words will enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'streaming', 'revenue', and 'cultural value'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'makes people life more easier' (should be 'makes people's lives easier') and 'not much necessary' (should be 'not as necessary'). There is also some repetition of basic words. To improve, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensuring correct word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('theatres and cinema are generate revenue'), article usage ('the advancement of technology'), and pluralization ('actor and actoress'). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they are frequent enough to impact the overall fluency. You should focus on proofreading for basic errors such as verb tense consistency and singular/plural agreement to improve your accuracy.
