Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some people believe that that digital age like theatre and cinema are loosing their importance as people can watch all the entertainment online. While other argues that theatres and cinemas has important both economically and culturally. This essay will discuss both perspectives before giving my opinion.
The supporter of digital age, argues that theatres and cinema are no longer relevant anymore in the this growing digital era. People have access to watch anything on their phones without physically going anywhere and it results in people having no longer interest going to cinema or theatres. For example, a movie which is released currently you can watch online any kind of entertainment is only click away from you while physically waiting in lines for tickets or cinema which is time consuming you can enjoy all the stuff online and it is far more comfortable.
The people who often seen arguing thinks that cinema and theatres are still as important as they were both economically and culturally. People still go to cinema to watch their favourite shows and movies. For example, many movies are released in the cinema first before being available on the internet and people who were eagerly waiting for their favourite shows go to cinema first. Additionally, Theatres are still important many new comer actress and artist are still get chosen based on their theatre experience and performance in front of live audience. Thus, cinemas are still important both economically as it generate most of avenue and culturally it has the longest history.
I believe that even though theatres and cinema`s important has not been totally faded but with growing digital era is diverting people interest and people may not been seen filling those theatres seats anymore as they used too. Many people have tight schedule instead they watch entertainment online many creator and producer are using different platform to earn money with monetization. People recently have platform like Netflix which are designed to give you all source of entertainment and it still generate revenue and producers are earning even more through wider range of sponsored. Thus, I believe that theatres and cinema are not as important as they used to be anymore because internet has make things more easier to access.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The essay addresses both viewpoints and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While the arguments for the digital age are clear, the discussion regarding the economic and cultural importance of theatres is slightly repetitive and lacks depth. For instance, the point about 'new comer actress' is a good idea but is not fully explained or supported with specific examples. The conclusion clearly states your position, but the reasoning could be more nuanced to better reflect the complexity of the prompt. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting point is fully explored with specific, relevant examples rather than general statements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Additionally,' 'Thus,' and 'For example,' which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel mechanical or slightly forced, and there are instances where the flow between sentences is disjointed, such as in the second paragraph where the transition from movie releases to waiting in lines is abrupt. Furthermore, referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the use of 'the people who often seen arguing' to introduce the second viewpoint. Improving the variety and naturalness of linking words would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'monetization,' 'revenue,' and 'digital era.' However, there are several word-choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'loosing their importance' (should be 'losing'), 'new comer actress' (should be 'newcomers' or 'aspiring actors'), and 'generate most of avenue' (likely meant 'revenue'). There is also some repetition of basic vocabulary. To improve, focus on using more precise terminology and ensuring that word forms are used correctly in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of reading. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('theatres and cinemas has important'), incorrect verb forms ('people may not been seen filling'), and punctuation errors, particularly with apostrophes ('cinema`s important'). While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and ensuring that complex sentence structures are grammatically sound.
