Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both views and attempts to provide an opinion, but the conclusion is incomplete, leaving the position underdeveloped. The essay is also under the 250-word minimum, which negatively impacts the development of ideas. While the main points regarding convenience versus the cultural experience of cinemas are relevant, the lack of a fully articulated opinion and the insufficient length prevent a higher score. To improve, ensure all parts of the prompt are fully addressed and expand on your arguments with more detailed examples to meet the word count requirement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as the awkward transition 'while, others argue'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow between sentences is occasionally disjointed. The conclusion is abrupt and fails to provide a logical summary of the preceding arguments. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words more naturally and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that connects back to the main thesis.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, with frequent spelling errors such as 'nowadys', 'convenet', 'cenemas', 'cheper', and 'teatres'. These errors occasionally make the text difficult to read. While you attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'economically' and 'culturally', the range is insufficient to express complex ideas with precision. To improve, work on expanding your vocabulary related to media and entertainment and pay closer attention to spelling and word formation to ensure your writing is professional and clear.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, such as 'human are watching moveis' and 'it boost economey'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the placement of commas and spaces. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and sentence construction limits the score. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct article usage, and practicing more complex sentence structures to demonstrate greater control over English grammar.
