Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the task. However, the development of ideas is limited. The arguments regarding economic and cultural importance are somewhat superficial and rely heavily on personal anecdotes rather than broader analysis. The structure is disjointed, and the explanation of why cinemas remain relevant is repetitive. To improve, you should focus on expanding your points with more sophisticated reasoning—for example, discussing the social experience of cinema or the economic impact on the film industry—rather than relying on personal stories.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a clear logical progression. Paragraphing is inconsistent, and the transition between ideas is often abrupt or missing. While there are some attempts at cohesive devices, they are frequently used incorrectly or in a way that makes the text difficult to follow. For instance, the shift from the general argument to the personal anecdote about the cinema proposal is jarring and lacks a clear link to the main topic. Improving the use of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in contrast') and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly enhance the flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive, often relying on simple phrasing like 'very important' or 'good'. There are several instances of word-choice errors and non-standard collocations, such as 'movie related in firstly' and 'geting income'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas with precision. To reach a higher band, you should work on using more academic collocations and synonyms to avoid repetition. Expanding your range to include topic-specific vocabulary related to the film industry or digital media would also be beneficial.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are significant issues with sentence structure, including run-on sentences and fragments. Punctuation is often misused, particularly with commas and capitalization. Subject-verb agreement is inconsistent (e.g., 'people thinks', 'theatres is'), and there are frequent spelling errors (e.g., 'thier', 'sreen', 'mangement'). The range of grammatical structures is limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subject-verb agreement, and practicing the correct use of complex sentences with appropriate subordinating conjunctions.
