Student answer (Band 5.0)

Some citizens argue that in the digital age, big hall and cinema are no longer survive as people can spend time watching all the entertainment stuff from ott platform. On the other hand, theatres and cinema are still relevant as economically and culturally. Prior giving my stance, both the sides are discussed in details with relevant examples.

Firstly, population who believe watching content online is more cheaper because in ott platform their is 1 year subscription that you have pay and far lower then going to cinema. Moreover, it is also provide many different types of content to see at once so that there payers are stuck in their app. On the other hand, viewers are very busy they don't have time to go watching movie in big hall it more convenient to sit and enjoy at there home.

Secondly, their are still many tax payer who believe to watch movie or content in theatres with crowed. Furthermore, it is so beneficial for economic perspective and mentally impact on people. Moreover, from this government and one screen theatres are gaining good amount. Furthermore, still many of the citizen are prefer watching movie at home because the food at big hall is so high such as one small popcorn cost around 300 or 350 rupees. For example, if family decide to go watching movie in theatre then it will be cost around over 3000 because of this many people decide to sit and watch film at there personal space.

In conclusion, i still prefer watching film at big hall rather than watching in online. Moreover, the theatres market is beneficial if they make changes into food and prices of sit.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the task. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. While you mention economic and cultural aspects, the explanation is often superficial or repetitive. For instance, the argument regarding the cost of cinema food is a specific detail that lacks a broader connection to the 'cultural importance' mentioned in the prompt. The conclusion is brief and does not fully synthesize the points discussed. To improve, ensure that each paragraph focuses on a clear, well-developed argument that directly links back to the prompt's core themes of economic and cultural significance.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, the phrase 'Prior giving my stance' is grammatically incorrect and awkward. The transition 'Furthermore' is overused, appearing three times in the second body paragraph, which makes the flow feel repetitive. Additionally, some sentences lack logical connection, such as the sudden shift to discussing popcorn prices in the middle of a paragraph about economic and cultural benefits. Improving the variety and precision of linking words will help create a smoother progression of ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally limited and repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'big hall', 'stuff', and 'good amount', which are not suitable for an academic essay. There are also frequent word-choice errors, such as 'more cheaper' (a double comparative) and 'their' used instead of 'there'. The phrase 'ott platform' is informal. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise, academic vocabulary, such as 'streaming services', 'financial viability', or 'cultural enrichment'. Expanding your range of collocations and avoiding informal phrasing will significantly enhance the quality of your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'theatres and cinema are still relevant as economically'), incorrect word forms (e.g., 'population who believe'), and missing articles. Sentence structures are mostly simple or contain errors when attempting complexity, such as 'if family decide to go watching movie in theatre then it will be cost around over 3000'. There is a lack of control over complex sentence structures, and punctuation is inconsistent. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like verb tense and pluralization would be a beneficial next step.
