Student answer (Band 5.5)
Theatres and cinemas have always played an important role in people's social life. A group of people believes that these are no more useful as we can find entertainment on internet, whereas, other opine that they are still valuable for certain things. However, I am in with the first statement. In the forthcoming essay, I shall discuss my reasons.
To start with the discussion of the reasons I agree, today is the time of the technology. All the things are easily available on internet today such as news, current affairs, trading information, lessons on different topics. Similarly, internet has become a great source of entertainment. There are various platform available online such as netflix, amazone prime, hotstar on which we can watch a movie, a series or anything like that whenever we want. In addition, all these platform are very convenient because they provide time flexibility. If one has busy schedule, he can complete his desired film in suitable time, to add on, he do not need to rewatch the previous parts and can continue from where he left.
Further more, as we are watching this online we are able to move around. To add on, this feature gives us a possibility to arrange a private movie night with our friends and family. for example, recently on last sunday, I and my school friends arranged small gathering and enjoyed a movie at my house, where I set a show on netflix in my TV. Moreover, nowadays, many shows are only available at these kinds of channels and are not released in the cinemas. This situation gives wings to the utilization of online modes of entertainment.
However, there are some drawbacks, too. One of the major concern regarding the usage of online entertainment is the platform fees. The platforms on which we are watching shows have a comparative high charges than the local cinemas. In addition, with the increased use on online modes we are loosing the historical culture of drama and arts. To add on, lessen visitors in theatre and cinemas contribute to the decline in nation's economy, as it is an important tourist site.
To conclude, there are both good and bad impacts of not giving cinemas and theatres much importance, I still believe that we can use the online modes more than visiting cinemas.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While you provide reasons for the popularity of online streaming, the discussion regarding the economic and cultural importance of cinemas is less developed and feels slightly rushed. The conclusion is a bit weak, as it merely restates that there are pros and cons without fully synthesising your position. To reach a higher band, ensure that the counter-arguments are explored with the same depth as your own viewpoint, and provide a more robust summary of your stance in the final paragraph.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use a range of cohesive devices such as 'To start with', 'In addition', and 'Furthermore'. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical or repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'To add on'. Additionally, some referencing is slightly unclear, and the flow between the counter-argument paragraph and the conclusion could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a strong topic sentence will help improve the overall cohesion of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'forthcoming', 'flexibility', and 'utilization'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and minor errors, such as 'I am in with the first statement' (instead of 'I agree with'), 'comparative high charges' (instead of 'comparatively high'), and 'loosing' (spelling error for 'losing'). While these errors do not impede communication, they limit the precision of your expression. To improve, focus on learning collocations and refining your use of academic vocabulary to ensure it sounds more natural and precise.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this level. There are several grammatical slips throughout the text, such as 'he do not need' (subject-verb agreement), 'on internet' (missing article), and 'I and my school friends' (incorrect pronoun order). Punctuation is generally functional, though there are some run-on sentences and minor errors with commas. The majority of your sentences are understandable, but the frequency of these small errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article usage.
