Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, while you mention that cinemas are 'economically and culturally' important, you do not provide specific examples or detailed explanations to support these claims. The arguments regarding the convenience of digital platforms are relevant but could be expanded with more depth. To improve, ensure that each main idea is supported by a concrete example or a more thorough explanation of the 'why' and 'how' behind your points, rather than just stating them.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices like 'To begin with', 'In addition', and 'On the contrast' (which should be 'In contrast'). However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the logical progression is hindered by awkward phrasing, such as in the introduction. The use of referencing is occasionally unclear, making some sentences difficult to parse. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that the transition between ideas is smoother and more natural.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, but there are frequent errors in word choice and collocation that occasionally impede clarity. For example, you use 'captivating and fascinating to cinemas' instead of 'drawn to' or 'interested in', and 'underwhelming of using' is non-standard. There are also several spelling errors, such as 'aurge', 'theatrs', 'encredibly', and 'conlusion'. While you attempt to use some more sophisticated vocabulary, the inaccuracies in form and usage limit the score. Focus on learning the correct collocations for common verbs and adjectives to improve precision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('these two kind of arts is'), incorrect verb forms ('many people inspired to'), and missing articles or prepositions ('part in their everyday life'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with capitalization and comma usage. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar structures prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Prioritize proofreading for subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage to enhance accuracy.
