Student answer (Band 6.0)
In the modern era, the majority of individuals believe that theatres and cinemas are not essential anymore. On the other hand, some people thinks that theatre and cinemas are still important in economically and culturally both, I firmly agree with the statement which says it is still beneficial.
On the one hand, society like to watch movies on online platforms rather than watching in theatres and cinemas. they just buy online streaming applications subscriptions and watch anytime anywhere. There are plethora of web series which is only available on online platforms. They think it is waste of time and money as the movie price are equal to their whole month subscription. For example, People bought subscriptions of Netflix when a web series name Stranger Things released. it attracts most of young generation to buy OTT membership. As a result, their interest shifts from theatres to online platforms.
On the other hand, theatres and cinemas works as a best tool for economically and culturally boost. When they book movie tickets then they use public transport or their personal vehicle to reach out at movie theatre. They buy pop corns, soft drinks and eat out before or after shows which is very helpful in boost local market economically. In addition, residents make plans to watch movies with their families. The parents encourage their children to watch specially traditional movies with them. They give crucial knowledge about their cultures through traditional movies.
In my opinion, Theatres and cinemas are best way to boost economy and get knowledge about culture.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention economic and cultural benefits, the explanation remains superficial. For instance, the point about 'traditional movies' is a good start but lacks specific examples or deeper analysis of how this cultural transmission actually occurs. The conclusion is also quite brief and does not fully synthesize the points made in the body paragraphs. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting point is fully extended with more detailed reasoning or illustrative examples.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'On the one hand' and 'In addition,' which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as the phrasing in the introduction ('economically and culturally both'). Additionally, some referencing is unclear; for example, the use of 'they' in the second paragraph is ambiguous, as it is not immediately clear if you are referring to the general public or a specific group. Improving the variety and precision of your linking words would enhance the flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'plethora,' 'subscriptions,' and 'essential.' However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'theatres and cinemas works as a best tool' (should be 'work as the best tools') and 'economically and culturally boost' (should be 'economic and cultural boost'). Some phrasing is repetitive, and the vocabulary is generally functional rather than sophisticated. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding word-form errors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('some people thinks', 'theatres and cinemas works'), article usage errors ('the movie price', 'a best tool'), and punctuation mistakes, particularly the comma splice in the introduction. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article usage would significantly improve your accuracy.
