Student answer (Band 5.5)
Without any doubt, society is divided into two groups as per the distinct mindset of different person. Therefore, it has become a debatable issue whether the growth of technology remove the craze for cinemas and theatres among the individuals because they can surf online their favourite movies or it is still crucial as before. This essay will not only shed light on both the perspective but also my point on view will also be elaborated in the conclusion.
To begin with, digital age is not lie, almost every individual has electric device like mobile phone, tablets or laptop whereas the internet is also become an essential part in everyone's life. Moreover, with the help of internet, they can watch any film or series in their device without going to cinemas. However, people can watch everything in the comfort of their home, so they become lazy to go to theatre for seeing a movie. To cite an example, the trend of scrolling reels has been spreading like wildfire, youngsters enjoy the short form content more than the three hours long film.
Moving toward the second notion of this argument. The most significant thing is, the experience we get in the cinemas, we do not get it in our home. Moreover, most people go to watch movies for some outing and spending family time instead of just see film. Instead of it, the team and the filmaker earn money when public went in theatres to watch their movies, it also contribute in our economy. For instance, the box office collectionof the movie benefit the film crew and also create the memory of the experience among public.
In my opinion, the changing era is real but we can not forget old things which made our life special. Although watching movies online is alright yet the experience we get in the cinema is unreal.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The essay addresses both viewpoints and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While the economic argument regarding box office revenue is relevant, the discussion on cultural importance is underdeveloped. The introduction is slightly repetitive, and the conclusion is quite brief, lacking a summary of the main points. To reach a higher band, ensure that each body paragraph provides a more detailed explanation and a concrete example that directly supports the topic sentence. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments could be more robustly explored to fully satisfy the requirements of the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'For instance', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or awkward, such as 'Moving toward the second notion of this argument'. Additionally, there are some issues with referencing and sentence-level cohesion, such as the phrase 'Instead of it' which does not logically connect to the preceding sentence. Paragraphing is used appropriately, but the overall flow could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence flows naturally into the next.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'spreading like wildfire' and 'debatable issue'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'surf online their favourite movies' (should be 'stream') and 'the changing era is real' (should be 'the digital shift is significant'). Spelling errors, such as 'filmaker' and 'collectionof', also occur. To improve, focus on using more precise academic collocations and proofreading for common spelling mistakes.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('internet is also become', 'public went in theatres'), missing articles ('in the comfort of their home'), and awkward phrasing ('as per the distinct mindset of different person'). While these errors do not significantly impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement, correct article usage, and ensuring that complex sentences are constructed with accurate punctuation and conjunctions.
