Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this contemporary era, due to the accessibility of internet people usually see movies and series for home, while some individuals argue that theatres and cinema are not necessary nowadays. I strongly believe that the cinemas give us the experiences that we don't get from any online website but, I will discuss both viewpoint in up coming paragraphs.

On one side, the theatres give life to the scenes and we can feel the emotions of that movie deeply. Primarily, in cinemas a person can enjoy and able to deeply related with any part of the program rather then any online app or websites . To elaborate, the movie are practically make for income and the theatres and cinemas give that income on the base upon its performance as a result their make a better ans amazing movies to earn. To insurnce, the big cities the people waits for the movie for years which give abette

On the paradoxical side, its is also evident that cinema charges more money then online and also a extra time to firstly go to the location. To tell, the online with the money a one movie we can see plenty of shows or series with a singular subscription not only this a people can also decide weather watch the movie at any location at any time. To exemplify, in small cities and towns where their is no any availability of any cinema holes public generally see the movie online.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. While the first body paragraph attempts to explain the economic and emotional benefits of cinemas, the argument is fragmented and lacks clarity, particularly in the sentence regarding 'income on the base upon its performance'. The second body paragraph focuses on the convenience of online streaming, which is relevant, but the conclusion is abrupt and fails to synthesize the arguments effectively. The ideas are present but often under-developed or expressed with insufficient clarity to reach a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is frequently interrupted by awkward phrasing and unclear transitions. While cohesive devices like 'On one side' and 'To conclude' are used, they are often followed by sentences that do not flow naturally from the previous point. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the phrase 'the movie are quite make for the cinemas to made money', which makes it difficult for the reader to follow the argument. Paragraphing is present, but the internal structure of the paragraphs lacks the necessary cohesion to guide the reader smoothly.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'cinema holes' (presumably meaning 'cinema halls'), 'insurnce' (likely 'instance'), and 'weather' (instead of 'whether'). The student struggles to use precise terminology, relying on basic descriptors like 'big cities' or 'amazing movies'. While the meaning is generally understandable, the lack of variety and the persistent errors in word formation and spelling significantly restrict the range of expression, preventing the essay from achieving a higher score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the accuracy is poor. There are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('the movie are', 'theatres and cinemas give that income'), incorrect verb forms ('to made money'), and awkward sentence construction. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing commas and incorrect spacing. These errors are frequent and occasionally impede the reader's understanding of the intended message. The student needs to focus on basic sentence construction and proofreading to eliminate these persistent errors.
