Student answer (Band 6.0)
In today's rapidly evolving world, it is often argued by some of people that theatres and cinemas are no longer essential because of availability of social media whereas, others assert that these entertainment sources still have cultural and economical importance. This essay will discuss both viewpoints before my own justification.
According to former viewpoint many individuals believe that cinemas and theatres are no longer beneficial as one can watch any movie and web series on online platforms due to which people avoid cinemas because as per them watching online is more convenient and cost effective. For instance, online apps like Netflix, Amazon Prime and Prime video provide all assess on time and one can watch any movie when ever he or she want as these apps are officially designed for movies only, even though long hour sittings are also not required as one can watch after a pause anytime. Hence, there is no need on cinemas and theatres and no long sitting required.
However, other audience believe that cinemas help us to preserve culture heritage and also increases the economic rate. To elaborate, cinemas were developed during 1988 and still the same trend is going on, instead of avoiding these items people should show case these things as this holds the history of ancient times. Moreover, theatres increases the economy rate of the nation because of blockbuster movies which are still framed on the wide screen. Thus, these master pieces are made with huge concept and planning people should respect these items.
In conclusion, I assert that cinemas and theatres have its own importance due to which social medias app cannot copy this trend easily. I strongly agree with the latter viewpoint.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both viewpoints and provides a clear personal opinion in the conclusion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding economic importance is vague, mentioning 'blockbuster movies' and 'huge concept' without explaining how cinemas specifically contribute to the economy (e.g., job creation or tourism). The historical reference to 1988 is also unclear and lacks relevance to the broader cultural argument. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific, logical explanations for your claims rather than relying on general statements. The position is consistent, but the supporting arguments need more depth and analytical rigour.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices such as 'However', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion' to link ideas. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'According to former viewpoint' (missing an article) and 'due to which' used repeatedly. The progression of ideas within paragraphs is sometimes hindered by grammatical errors, which makes the flow feel a bit disjointed. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring they are used naturally would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'rapidly evolving', 'convenient', 'cost effective', and 'cultural heritage'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'provide all assess' (access), 'long hour sittings', and 'these items' (referring to cinemas). Some phrases are repetitive, and the vocabulary lacks the sophistication required for higher bands. To improve, focus on learning collocations—words that naturally go together—and ensure you are using the correct form of words (e.g., 'economic' vs 'economical').
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'some of people' (should be 'some people'), 'as per them' (unnatural phrasing), 'when ever he or she want' (subject-verb agreement error), and 'theatres increases' (subject-verb agreement). Additionally, there are issues with article usage and pluralisation, such as 'social medias app'. These errors are noticeable and occur frequently, though they do not prevent the reader from understanding your main points. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and basic sentence construction will help improve your accuracy.
