Commencing with the most prominent reason why people consider theatres and cinemas less important in the digital age.people can watch films , web series television programs at their convenience time at home streaming platforms also provide wide range of content that most cinemas, often at relatively low monthly cost.Furthermore, technological advancements have made home entertainment increasingly sophisticated, with large screens, high-quality sound systems and affordable subscription services. As a result, many people, particularly younger generation, may prefer staying at home rather than travelling to a cinema.
On the other hand, theatres and cinemas continue to provide benefits that online entertainment cannot fully replace. Economically, these venues create employment for wide range of people, including actors, directors, technicians, cleaners , security staffs and hospitality workers. They also generate revenue for local businesses such as restaurants, cafes and shops. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both perspectives and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant and well-supported, particularly the economic and cultural arguments in the third paragraph. The position is consistent throughout the essay. To reach a higher band, the development of the first viewpoint could be slightly more nuanced; while the points about convenience and cost are valid, they could be expanded with more specific examples of how digital platforms have fundamentally altered consumer behavior beyond just 'convenience'. Overall, the task is fully addressed with a clear, logical structure.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear progression of ideas. Paragraphing is used effectively to separate the introduction, the two body paragraphs, and the conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'On the other hand', and 'In addition' are used appropriately to link ideas. However, there are minor issues with punctuation and sentence structure that occasionally affect the flow, such as the missing capitalization after the full stop in 'age.people' and the awkward phrasing in the introduction. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring consistent punctuation would enhance the overall cohesion.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is sufficient and generally appropriate for the task. You have used some good collocations like 'sophisticated', 'subscription services', and 'communal experiences'. There are some minor errors in word choice and pluralization, such as 'security staffs' (should be 'security staff') and 'convenience time' (should be 'convenient times'). To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated, less common lexical items to demonstrate a wider range. The current vocabulary is functional and allows for clear communication, but it lacks the precision and flexibility required for the highest bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is always clear, there are several grammatical slips, such as missing articles ('the younger generation') and punctuation errors (e.g., 'films , web series'). The sentence 'my opinion also be highlighted' is grammatically incorrect and awkward. While you show an ability to use complex sentences, the frequency of minor errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and consistent article usage will significantly improve your score.
