Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, more and more people like to watch movies, TV series on online platform, such as, Netflix, Hola and so on, similarly, it is argued by some sectors of society that the cinemas and theatres are no more crucial for our society, and cultural diversity, while others argue that they plays crucial role in the terms of economy and also to protect, preserve cultural diversity. Both aspects have their own importance and stances, but I acknowledge that theatres and cinemas are far more beneficial.
People who support this view argue that the theatres and cinemas are no more important due to the availability of online platform, also they argue that this approach is far more substantial, as we do not have to be committed to the time and place, it is portable way of entertainment, people could watch movies by staying at home. Another consideration is that, it is a cost effective way for recreation and amusement as compared to watching movies in cinemas and theaters, because it saves the money needed to buy tickets.
On the other hand, those who remained convinced that theatres and cinemas are important, argue that this approach is far more beneficial. Furthermore, they argue that the theatres and cinemas create the employment opportunities, and also a helpful way to preserve the culture, diversity, traditions and customs. For instance, the local artist, usually exhibit their art work in theatres, and earn their livelihood, similarly, it preserves the culture, it pass traditions to the youth, shares experience of being social, keep the language alive and so on. Consequently, some movies and films have their own charm, watching them in cinemas provide unforgettable glee, it creates the feeling of being social.
In conclusion, despite the advancement in the industry, no matter how many online platforms are available, these venues are still important and keep the social life alive, the online platforms could not match shared experience, we could avail in theatres and cinemas.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion in the introduction and conclusion. The ideas are relevant, such as the convenience of online platforms versus the social and economic benefits of physical venues. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat repetitive. For instance, the second and third paragraphs rely on similar points regarding 'culture' and 'social experience' without providing specific, concrete examples to deepen the argument. While the position is clear, the supporting arguments could be more nuanced to reach a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organised into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. Cohesive devices are used throughout, such as 'On the other hand', 'Furthermore', and 'Consequently'. However, some transitions feel mechanical or slightly awkward, such as the use of 'similarly' at the start of the first paragraph, which does not logically connect to the preceding clause. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally imprecise, and the flow between sentences could be smoother to avoid a slightly disjointed feel. Overall, the structure is clear and follows a standard academic format.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There is an attempt to use less common items like 'recreation', 'amusement', and 'livelihood'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'unforgettable glee' (which is unnatural) and 'it pass traditions' (grammatical error affecting lexical precision). The repetition of phrases like 'no more important' and 'far more beneficial' limits the range. To improve, the student should focus on more precise collocations and a wider variety of synonyms to avoid repetitive phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'theatres and cinemas... plays crucial role') and article usage (e.g., 'on online platform'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with several comma splices and unnecessary commas (e.g., 'such as, Netflix'). While the errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. More attention to proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy is recommended.
