Student answer (Band 6.0)
One section of society thinks that nowadays, theatre and cinema are no longer necessary, as individuals can watch everything on social media platforms. While, other section of society opposes it. I will discuss both points of view and give my own opinion in the following paragraphs.
To commence with, one section of society believes that theatres and cinemas are still play a crucial role in every person's life. First of all, some people find it boring to watch movies and dramas on the internet. To elaborate, people are easily distract while watching movies and dramas at home but in theatres and cinemas there is no distraction at all a person enjoys the movie on a big screen and with good audio quality. Moreover, some movie scenes are deleted on social media apps such as Netflix and Amazon, but in cinemas individuals can enjoy the movies without any censorship.
On the other hand, people can save their money and time while watching on the internet. In the modern era, everybody is busy with their own works and responsibilities. People have insufficient time to go outside to watch such things because of inflation people do not have much money to spend on cinemas and theatres. That is why they prefer to watch online at home with few expenses. For example, a survey was conducted in the USA showed that people those who belong to middle-class families like to watch films and dramas online.
To conclude, no doubt, watching movies and dramas in theatres and cinemas is more enjoyable than watching at home, authorities should provide some facilities to poor and middle-class families, so they can also enjoy these things.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, satisfying the requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the argument regarding economic factors is mentioned but not fully explored in terms of the broader cultural or economic impact on society. The opinion is stated in the introduction but is not clearly integrated or reinforced throughout the body paragraphs. To reach a higher band, you should provide more nuanced analysis and ensure that your own position is clearly woven into the discussion rather than just mentioned at the start and end.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'Moreover', and 'On the other hand'. However, some transitions feel mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the sentence 'While, other section of society opposes it', which is grammatically fragmented and disrupts the flow. The use of linking words is generally effective, but the essay would benefit from a wider variety of cohesive devices to connect sentences more fluidly and improve the overall coherence of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'censorship', 'inflation', and 'social media platforms'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are instances of awkward word choices, such as 'watching on the internet' instead of 'watching content online'. There is also a lack of more sophisticated or academic vocabulary that would demonstrate a higher level of lexical control. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and varied synonyms to avoid repetition.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the reader's understanding. Examples include 'theatres and cinemas are still play a crucial role' (incorrect verb form), 'people are easily distract' (should be 'distracted'), and 'a survey was conducted in the USA showed that' (missing relative pronoun 'which'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevent the essay from reaching a higher band score.
