Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, Digital play a significant role in individual life. while some people believe that by watching entertainment online are no longer important, others argue that it is still beneficial to watch movies or drama in theaters. Although both views have their own merits, I believe that online are good sources for watching movies.

First of all, theaters connect people by culturally. for example it has their own benefits such as a good vision and sound which people loved most of time. secondly, they are also important for economy because of theaters and cinema there are so many worker get a money and for this food counter also be earned.

on the other hand, everybody do not have a time to go outside for watching movies so they prefer to watch online by their own home. In order to watch whole movie at one day, they watch by part wise at their own convenience. Moreover, They watch Movie with their own privacy as they want. They can easily watch movie by doing their other work or stuff if they do not have time but still want to watch movie. With online They also switch movies or series if they do not like. I believe that theaters and cinemas are good source of watching movies but in this digital era it is easy to watch any movie at any convenience time and place.

In conclusion, although both viewpoints have their own benefits, I believe that online movie is more useful than watching on theaters because today nobody have enough time or sources or patience that they sit long time to sit for watching movie.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the argument regarding the economic importance of theaters is vague, mentioning 'food counter' and 'worker get a money' without clear explanation. The points regarding online entertainment are repetitive, focusing heavily on 'convenience' and 'time'. To reach a higher band, you need to provide more substantial supporting details and examples. While the prompt is addressed, the depth of analysis is limited, which restricts the score to a 5.5.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'First of all' and 'secondly' are used, but the transition between ideas is sometimes abrupt. There are issues with referencing; for instance, 'it has their own benefits' is unclear as the antecedent for 'it' is missing. Additionally, some sentences are disjointed, such as 'for example it has their own benefits such as a good vision and sound which people loved most of time.' Improved use of linking words and clearer pronoun references would enhance the flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally limited and repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'good', 'watch', and 'time' throughout the essay. There are also errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'connect people by culturally' (should be 'culturally connect people') and 'worker get a money' (should be 'employees earn an income'). While the meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of variety and the presence of awkward phrasing prevent a higher score. To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary related to the topic of media and economics.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'everybody do not have a time' and 'nobody have enough time'. Articles are often missing or misused, and sentence structures are frequently simplistic or contain fragments. While you attempt some complex sentences, they are often marred by errors, such as 'by watching entertainment online are no longer important'. To improve, focus on basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles.
