Student answer (Band 6.0)
In modern era, few individuals believe that theatres and cinemas are less significant due to rapid expansion of online streaming platforms while others think that theatrical and cinema going experience is essential for both economically and culturally. Although the rise of on-demand digital platforms are convenient and affordable but I believe that view cinematic content in theaters contribute to economy and generating employment.
One of the primary reason for less demand of big-screen experience is the rapid growth of digital platform has transformed peoples viewing habits. Individuals prefer online entertainment because of its accessibility and affordability. These platforms are not only convenient but also flexible for everyone. As a result they personalised their entertainment from the comfort of their homes. For example, platforms such as Netflix provide individual as well as family subscription plans. According to consumers preference and there subscription are cost-effective and have instant access. Moreover, online streaming platforms provide on-demand content which has wider range of content. Viewers prefer online digital platforms as they save their time and also provide home based entertainment without any extra efforts.
On the other hand, cinemas and theaters remain important because of immersive and communal experience. Spectator love to view cinematic content as they shared experience that home viewing cannot fully replicate. Besides this, it also contributes to the economy. The film industry makes a significant economic contribution by generating employment and supporting local business. In addition, it also promote cultural diversity and celebrate artistic traditions. It is beneficial for both government and public because it provide revenue from tax of cinematic content and provide platform for local artists and keep traditional art forms alive.
In conclusion, however, on-demand digital content fulfill the viewers needs by saving time and money. But in my opinion I believe that cinema and theaters remain important cultural institutions. They provide an immersive and unforgettable experience and support local business.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. The position is consistent throughout the essay. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While the economic benefits of cinemas are mentioned, the cultural arguments could be more deeply explored with specific examples beyond general statements. The introduction contains a minor grammatical error in the thesis statement ('view cinematic content' instead of 'viewing'), but the overall task requirements are met with relevant arguments that support the writer's stance.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. Cohesive devices such as 'One of the primary reason', 'Moreover', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader. However, there is some mechanical use of these devices, and referencing is occasionally imprecise, such as in the second paragraph where 'there subscription' is used incorrectly. Paragraphing is used sufficiently, and the progression of ideas is generally easy to follow, though the flow between sentences could be smoother in the second paragraph.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, with some attempts at less common items like 'immersive', 'communal experience', and 'artistic traditions'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'view cinematic content in theaters contribute to economy' and 'According to consumers preference and there subscription'. These errors do not impede communication but indicate a lack of precision. To reach a higher band, the student should focus on more accurate collocations and ensure that word forms (e.g., 'view' vs 'viewing') are used correctly in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the attempt at complex sentences is evident, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('the rise... are', 'platforms... has transformed') and article usage. Punctuation is generally functional, but there are errors in sentence construction, such as the run-on structure in the introduction. The errors are noticeable but rarely impede the reader's understanding of the main points. More attention to proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy would significantly improve the score.
