Student answer (Band 5.0)
Few individuals think that in the modern age, theatres and cinemas are no more valuable because people can watch all of the entertainment they want online. Yet others say that theatres and cinemas are still important as economically and culturally. As for me, theatres and cinemas are right now important because some old version people are interesting to watch movies in cinemas and some other people who have interest to watch movies and see theatres they are go to theatres and cinemas to watching movies and funny comedian.
The main reason is that cinemas have a big screen for showing movies to people. Due to that reason, Many people have a huge desire to watch movies in cinemas. For example, my best friend has a big fan of watching movies. He is watching movie on every weekend. He is very interesting in that. Once upon a time, when a new movie released, my friend said to me that Lets go to watching movie at cinema. Me and my friend went to the cinema, we watch a movie.
We are a lot of enjoy there. Its my first to watching movie, this is very good to me. There is a large screen and watched movie in large screen, i really enjoyed. Another reason to go theatres is that, people wants to see theatres actresses in live. Because there is very interesting to see live as compared to watch online. That desire is so many

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.5
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you attempt to address both views and state an opinion, the arguments are underdeveloped and lack depth. The discussion regarding the economic and cultural importance of theatres is superficial, relying on personal anecdotes rather than broader analysis. The response is also incomplete, ending abruptly with an unfinished sentence. To improve, ensure you fully explore each viewpoint with clear, logical supporting arguments and ensure the essay reaches the required length to allow for a comprehensive discussion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks a clear structure. Paragraphing is present but the progression of ideas is disjointed. Cohesive devices are used in a very limited and often repetitive manner, such as the frequent use of 'because' and 'due to that reason'. The connection between sentences is often weak, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of the argument. The abrupt ending further disrupts the coherence of the piece. Using a wider range of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would greatly improve the logical flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, which limits your ability to express complex ideas. Phrases like 'funny comedian' and 'old version people' are imprecise and unnatural. There is a lack of academic vocabulary appropriate for an IELTS essay. You rely on simple, everyday language that does not demonstrate the flexibility or precision required for higher bands. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to media, culture, and economics, and practice using synonyms to avoid repeating the same words throughout your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. Examples include 'theatres and cinemas are still important as economically and culturally', 'my best friend has a big fan of watching movies', and 'He is very interesting in that'. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the simple sentences used often contain errors in verb tense, subject-verb agreement, and word order. The frequent errors in basic grammar make the text difficult to read and demonstrate a limited control over sentence construction.
