Ans: Nowadays, the online streaming platforms such as Netflix and you tube are becoming increasingly prevalent. Some people believe that technological advancement will replace theatres and cinemas completely in the near future while, others argue that theatres and cinemas are still indispensable both economically and culturally. This essay will discuss both sides of the argument in detail and provide evidence as to why theatres and cinemas are superior.

On the one hand, we live in modern era in which we can watch all the entertainment we want online. so, people believe that why they will go to theatres and cinemas; spend money to watch movies. Moreover, online platforms provides more convenient and affordable services. Furthermore, when we watch movies online we have full access like we can pause and rewinde options which is another benefit of online streaming.

on the other hand, there are several aspects that we can not experience online such as theatres and cinemas are traditional way of entertainment which allows all the people to sit together and enjoy. the movie. Furthermore, in cinemas big screen is installed so, we can enjoy that view with incredible sound effects and crowd involvement. Moreover, theatres provide live performance which never be replaced by online streaming. Theatres and cinemas also provide job opportunities to the actors and other individuals.

From my prospective, online streaming platforms provide convenient and affordable services on our door steps but they can not be able to replace the traditional way of entertainment.

In conclusion, although in the digital age theatres and cinemas are no longer important as people can watch all the entertainment they want online but they can not be replaced. As I believe that they continue to offer unique cultural, social and economic benefits that digital platforms cannot fully replace.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the convenience of streaming versus the social and cultural value of cinemas. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the economic argument is mentioned but not fully explored with specific examples or deeper analysis. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more detailed explanations or concrete examples. The position is consistent throughout, but the conclusion could be more effectively integrated with the main body arguments to provide a more cohesive final stance.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'Furthermore' to link ideas. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive. Additionally, there are issues with sentence-level cohesion, such as the awkward phrasing in the second paragraph: 'so, people believe that why they will go to theatres'. Improving the flow between sentences and using a wider variety of linking words would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'online streaming platforms', 'technological advancement', and 'live performance'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'from my prospective' (should be 'perspective') and 'at our door steps' (should be 'at our doorstep'). The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, and you rely on fairly simple phrasing. To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary and ensure correct collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with verb forms, articles, and punctuation. For example, 'online platforms provides' (subject-verb agreement), 'rewinde options' (spelling), and 'they can not be able to' (redundant structure). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some sentences starting with lowercase letters or having unnecessary commas. To achieve a higher score, focus on improving your control over basic grammar and reducing these recurring errors, while also attempting more varied complex sentence structures.
