Student answer (Band 6.0)
We are living in this technical era, There are numerous number of people believe that modern technology provides umpteen gadgets that we use at our own places and enjoy the provide movies or videos at our own places. But on other side few believe theatres are still important for the cultural and economical growth. So in the upcoming paragraphs i am going to discuss both side and in the end give my own opinion.
Firstly, because of modernization people can stream any type of movies, video or anime when ever they want online, that cut them lot of time like from traveling. Moreover, that also cheaper than watching movies in cinema. Because there is a average price for the ticket is 15 to 20 dollars and if they stream online they have to buy subscription and that stay for the month. A part from that, because of digital age people can make their own mini theatre room in their homes. So they can enjoy their free time.
On the other hand, people are not spending time with their friends or family. They are streaming movies alone not with their friends. But in cinemas they can go in groups or can spend good time with loving ones. secondly, now a days there are umpteen cultural movies are promoted by theatres, so that new generation can stick with their culture roots, they can know about their history and that's the easiest way to teach them. Last but not least, there are lot of cinemas that give charities or donation to orphanages. So they can contribute to the economy.
In my opinion, cinemas are still import for people. Because they are giving there contribution to economy and also helping the people to spare some time from their hectic schedule and spend with their loving ones.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention economic and cultural benefits, the points are brief and lack depth. For instance, the mention of cinemas donating to orphanages is a specific point, but it is not fully connected to the broader economic argument. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting point is expanded with more detailed explanation or illustrative examples. The introduction is also slightly repetitive, and the overall structure is quite basic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'Moreover', and 'On the other hand' to signal transitions. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'A part from that' (Apart from that) and 'Last but not least'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring they are used naturally would enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You have an adequate range of vocabulary to express your ideas, but there is a reliance on informal or repetitive phrasing. Phrases like 'umpteen gadgets' and 'loving ones' are either slightly unnatural or imprecise in this context. There are also some errors in word choice, such as 'provide movies' instead of 'provided movies' or 'import' instead of 'important'. To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary related to the topic of technology and culture, and pay closer attention to collocations to ensure your word choices sound more natural and professional.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'There are numerous number of people believe' (should be 'a number of people who believe'), 'that cut them lot of time' (should be 'saves them a lot of time'), and 'cinemas are still import' (should be 'important'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma splices and capitalization. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to lower the score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and sentence construction will be beneficial.
